Hi, so um...great timing. I am making this post to let @Aurora, along with everyone else, know that I can not only no longer host this round, but until further notice, I can not participate in this game, or ATRL at all, until further notice. My laptop, after installing an update, is basically bricked and I sincerely doubt I can get it fixed for a while. As for what I'm posting this on, it's my mom's computer, which I can only use because she's in the hospital right now. (I imagine she will be coming back either late tonight or sometime tomorrow.) Her computer is slow on its own, but coupled with the fact that ATRL is ALSO slow and the fact that I won't even have access to it whenever I'll need it, it's just not realistic for me to host, let alone do anything else ATRL related.

 

I am sorry that the timing on this is so damn unfortunate...I would never purposely screw up the flow of this game because it's my favorite part of ATRL, and I know others will be disappointed too. I'm going to keep trying to get my laptop to work, but I'm not going to act like there's a good chance I'll get it to work without having to get a professional involved, and that costs money that I simply do not have.

 

Oh, and obviously since this isn't my computer, it doesn't have Discord on it, either, and I'm not going to download things on my mom's computer that she doesn't want.

This is… certainly unexpected, but with everything that's already happened this season, I honestly can't say I'm surprised. It's an awful thing to happen and I hope things get solved a lot quicker than you're expecting... hopefully your mother is doing well too.  You're a great asset to Platinum Hit, but more than that you're a great friend, and know we'll see you soon.

With that said, thank you @ultraviolence.xx for posting the challenge elements. Due to the nature of the challenge requiring collaboration we'll allow an extra day for organising a group chat system which works for you all (Discord might be helpful… hint hint ?) but all other challenge requirements remain true.

 

Keep in mind that we're not after a boy band/girl group type song and we're not after a duet or collaboration between multiple artists, you're all just working together in a "writing camp" to create one song to be pitched to a single artist.

 

(May post a formatted challenge post with the new deadline later depending on whether the server wants to cooperate with me or not.)

Episode 4: "Ménage à Trois"

 

Calling all songwriters! Congratulations on surviving the first cut of the season. The fun has only just begun, however. Platinum Records' biggest global signee Robylle Fenowles is hoping to make her big comeback soon and has requested a writing camp be organised on her behalf with our top songwriters—you! Based on your rankings on the average revenue chart, you have been grouped in trios, and each trio must collectively produce one song. You will still be judged individually however, and there are some specifics we are looking for…

 

What we do want:

✅ Each member of the trio must write one section independently (such as a verse or a bridge).

✅ All members of the trio must contribute to a collaborative chorus.

✅ How the rest of the song is structured is entirely up to you as a trio.

✅ Only one member of the trio to submit the finished song.

✅ Each member of the trio must submit a brief summary of their contributions (2-3 sentences max).

 

What we don't want:

❎ A boy band, girl group or collaboration-between-artists style song with three distinct voices.

❎ A very disjointed song that makes it clear there was no cohesion or collaboration between the trio.

❎ A song entirely ghostwritten by one member of the trio.

 

Star Challenges

✪ Create one cohesive song that could be sung by a single artist, and doesn’t feel disjointed.

✪ Include a rap or sing-talk element that still echoes the vibe of the rest of the song.

 

…one last thing, Robylle has specifically requested songs about love to be the main theme of her upcoming album. Love is a many-splendoured thing, and there are many different kinds of love to consider! Due to this, our social media bloggers have once again compiled a list of different types of love to be enamoured of. What would we do without them? Be bold, be brave, but most of all, be a good team player.

Notice: An Antarctic Anomaly

 

As many already know, there was a major malfunction with our communications channel in South America earlier in the season which has unfortunately now spread to North America as well. While we wait for an update from our maintenance crew on these issues, us in the Eastern Hemisphere searched high and low for a new global representative, and to our surprise, Antarctica wasn't completely melted as we were initially lead to believe… global warming has made the once frozen continent habitable and a bustling new music scene has been established on the Antarctic Peninsula!

 

Without further ado, please welcome the newest executive of Platinum Records, @Corsola!

 

 

Corsola—locally known as Corsola—is no stranger to Platinum Hit. Known for her creatively conceptual concoctions, Corsola was the breakout star of Diamond Hit, being the only first-time player to make the Top 6 that season and has since become a staple within the Platinum Hit family. With nine Top 10 hits to her name, including two #2 smash hits and the 9+ scoring "Petals" from earlier this season, we know she'll make an excellent addition to the Platinum Hit: Stardom crew.

@Aurora and everyone else concerned: im on a VERY old laptop that is not very reliable (randomly overheats, slow as hell, etc) BUT its my own, and i am an discord. If it could work for everyone, i can MAYBE do scores and not comments (If I'm not fired lol) (typing can easily trigger my laptop off), potentially get comments when i get my laptop fixed OR get a new one, but that's like...a week from now. Again, sorry for this huge mess, I didnt want it to go like this

So, starting round 5 (doesn't make sense to start it this round since it'll only be my first week so you can just see with results), after the weekly chart for Antarctica is revealed during results, I'll also post my own overall one where your rank is your overall average (for my judging specifically, anyway) to see how you're doing overall. I'm not sure if I should base it off of scores/sale or ranking or both? I mean personally, I think sales matter more than your rank since one round you could rank low but have high sales since it was a good round and vice versa, but I'll ask around I guess since I have time.

 

Pretty sure this has been done in earlier seasons but it's a cute idea to me so I'm bringing it back. Just remember the charts will be solely for Antarctica/me and not other continents/judges because the ice hasn't permeated them via flooding yet.  

While you're being extra, can we assign you the task of keeping track of the season end chart and updating it each round
