Not well at all. In New York City, the no1 market in the country, it is one of the most disliked songs.

That's why Z100 has completely dropped it. It is out of their Top40 at no41 with just 12 spins the last 7 days.

In the age of Trump, a song by a privileged white person singing about having "big enemies" and all the other pretentious things she says of course is not going to test well especially with what pop radio's target audience has been going through with this administration. In large markets like LA, NY, Chicago, Miami etc., latinos, blacks, asians, immigrants, lgbtq individuals make up a majority of adults 18-34, pop radio's target audience. The last thing they wanna listen to in the middle of everything they have to go through is some white privileged girl from rural Pennsylvania being nasty, aggressive and pretentious like that.

Who knows, maybe she is testing well in Kansas.

Halsey, Queen of no3 peaks.

But, let's be honest, no3 pretty much means heavy rotation on most stations. It is still huge. She almost hit 18000 spins and has longevity. Way more important that hitting no1 for just a week and then collapsing.

Yeah, and of no offense to Swift fans, but LWYMMD is the most obvious example of this outside of Country -- her original format.

Radio deals are done first day, and a song usually debuts in the 20s/30s from it. God’s Plan didn’t even debut Top 50 first day.

You can also look at stations playlists when a song is out first day and literally see if they’re playing it at the top of every hour lol.

Yeah.....Drake's God's Plan benefits from metric-driven airplay. So he won't (or at most is extremely unlikely to) suffer from the "rolling effect."

Havana is absolutly massive in Canada :deadbanana:

Lol.....Well Canadians have had the legal right to travel to Havana and the rest of Cuba for decades now. ☺  Only the US sticks to an obviously useless embargo that's the laughing stock of the rest of the world. But, Canada does have a significantly smaller Hispanic/Latino population than the US. So one could argue that the latter should nullify the former.

What anger? I'm just presenting facts and reality. This is the airplay thread. You can't talk about what's popular on POP radio without taking into account what's going on socially and politically in the country. Pop radio has always reflected the mood of people 16-34 years old. If you fail to realize how that demographic feels and fail to connect to them, then your music will underperform.

Social issues, politics and pop radio are one.

Girl I get that you hate Taylor, and you're totally allowed to do so, do you I guess, but you need to take a step back and realize your bias in how you discuss artists in this thread and on this forum. Your posts about Taylor REEK of hatred towards her, whether you want to play dumb to that fact is your prerogative. End Game is literally just a song about Taylor wanting to be with her significant other, the fact that after listening to that song you call her "nasty, aggressive and pretentious" spells out perfectly how you feel about Taylor personally. Also she says "big enemies" only two times in the whole song as part of a hook, and she ain't lying either.

Any expectation about End Game's overall audience?

I wonder if New Rules is going to challenge Havana's 7 weeks? It's in a similar situation where thto competition is so far behind.

Lmao, will it even be in the Top 50 on Streaming or Sales in 7 weeks? That would be the most tragic reign ever.

It'll probably start falling down hard in coming weeks because the lack of popularity outside radio currently.

@Mediabase how do you see Never Be The Same faring on radio? It seems to be off to a good start and is stable digitally and in streams without a video yet. Are callouts good?

Females 18-34, the target audience of pop radio, seem to love it. Here are the the songs that test the best right now with females 18-34. Her singles along with New Rules by Dua Lipa are slaying. Very loved by the public. I would be surprised if it doesn't peak in the Top5 on pop radio eventually. This is just a national sample though. What matters is the research individual stations and radio companies do in their markets. Those are private surveys that we don't have access to. But what we have access to is a pretty good indication that her songs are very liked. At the beginning of February we are gonna start getting the weekly national sample of call out scores provided for free by Mediabase too. They took a break during the xmas holiday and January.

She's performing on SNL next week, tho, by then she'll be onto her 3rd week at #1. She definitely deserves 7 or more weeks at #1 due to Radio paying it dust for so long.

Sis, the song has been charting on US pop radio for almost half a year now and has had steady numbers since then. It is one of the most streamed songs of all time worldwide and still in the top15 of most streamed songs worldwide. It was in the top10 of most streamed songs worldwide for like 5-6 months now and the video on youtube has 1 BILLION views.

What's better? To hit no1 on streaming for 1-2 weeks and then collapse or have steady numbers for 6 months? Longevity is the key.

Worldwide numbers have nothing to do with US Airplay.

The song is doing absolutely terrible on sales and streams currently. If Taylor was #1 on Pop radio, while currently #45 on iTunes and #53 on Spotify I'm sure you'd have paragraphs and essays ready on how it was the biggest payola scheme of all-time.

US Radio while paying attention to callouts also notes a song's success in sales/streams when supporting it. It's doing absolutely bad currently so I can't see a 7 week reign in sight. That would be absolutely ridiculous.

Even in the US, it has been in the top50 on Spotify for like half a year now. It is an anomaly. Most "hits" a huge chunk of their streams within a 2-3 month period and that allows them to peak higher. In her case, she's had 6 months to accumulate decent streams. Her total stream numbers in the US are already HIGHER than a lot of songs that you consider "hits" because they peaked higher or because they peaked on radio and streams at the same time.
