I have a feeling that the format will switch playlists Veteran's/Armistice Day weekend, which is only 8 days away. Any song hanging on due to AC airplay will die when the genre's playlists change. Yes, the Chainsmokers dethroned Sheeran 2 or 3 weeks ago, but it seems they think this is the last chance for Shawn to snatch #1 because of a 6-7 week freeze so it's already #1 on today's chart, and will get a decent lead until Sunday.
