I don't know, but don't you think there is something wrong with the rules if Pop can drop songs like UIFY without even a falling week, but keep songs like WAYF in the 40s for months on end despite it being pretty much dead (outside of that one station, KENZ)? The purging rules need to be updated to prevent that from happening again. All declining songs below 40 should be dropped and not be eligible for pulling into the Top 40.

Keeping the FOB song on the list only gets my (false) hopes up that they'll finally start playing it this week, when in reality those spins are being given to the older songs on top that should be on a steeper decline. I'd much rather they purge it than face the same cycle every week.

lol, these are the same people that have been arguing that Calm Down, which is months older than all of those songs, sounds fresh to them and should climb indefinitely. The fact of the matter is that all of these songs are old and Pop needs to let go of them already. The only songs that are fresh in the Top 10 of Pop right now are Sure Thing and Boy’s a Liar.

Calm Down has been charting over 7 months . all these songs much longer than Flowers .

Pop needs to pick this one up faster:

"Ceilings" by Lizzy McAlpine -- #30 Spotify. The young singer-songwriter recently took this song to #1 on the Alternative Streaming Songs chart. It's breaking now at Hot AC and is trending Top 25 at Pop. KBFF, KDWB, WNCI, KUDD, HITS1, WDOD, WIHT are raising the roof with spins. Top 20 Today’s Top Hits. 200M streams to date. Sold-out headline tour begins this month.

It reminds a little bit of Sara Kays' Remember The Night which was a minor top 40 hit in the summer of 2021.

So looks like Halsey's song will be left to die now that she has parted ways with Capitol.

All in all, a good update. Calm Down is beginning to slow down, while Sure Thing looks primed to be the next #1. Nice to see that all the songs with huge gains are fresh, for a change. And that Fall Out Boy song is turning around again (hopefully this is for real this time). The only thing keeping this from being a perfect update is the Boy's a Liar and ceilings update.

Nonsense top 13 next week? :WAP:

I really need Escapism to go #1 :'(  The song brings me back a decade, I feel like we didn't have a pop song that's just so genuinely cool and with such great flow since like 2014.  idk how to describe it, I think it gives me like Habits (Stay High) vibes.

Lavender Haze just got put on power by all Bell Media which owns the largest chuck of Canadian top 40 stations :jonny3:I wasnt expecting that. I think this will help LH repeak in the top 10 again on Billboard.

Does anyone have an update on any format for Ella Baila Sola? I feel like this is the only song currently charting that has a chance to unseat Last Night on the Hot 100 any time soon.

Yeah, it's strange ngl, UIFY had an unlucky performance given the circunstances. They're very inconsistent with purges tho.

Yeah, I feel you, it's an unconventional pop song, which makes me so happy for all the success it had achieved, but its structure could be polarizing imo, callouts haven't been absolutely great, and that's why it isn't any higher.

If Sabrina picks up pace, she could actually sneak a week in the top ten in the coming 3 weeks. That + a top 40 placement on the Hot 100 and I'll be extremely happy.

I think a top 40 on the Hot 100 is just a miracle at this point since the song it’s just stalled in the 70-100 on Spotify US. But radio seems to love the song so I’ll be happy with a top 12 placement on Pop radio and 20 weeks on the Hot 100, which both are impressive for her and give her a good slot to follow up with Feather which is another song very loved by the public that have heard the song so it has potential to be another hit for the queen :WAP:

A little expected that KB was lowkey pushed to the top, it deserved at least a week for the longevity is having on all metrics. However, it seems to have lacked callouts compared to strong reception for "Flowers" and "Creepin'". "Flowers" is still very strong and among audience's favorite, unfourtanely. Personally, I always switch the station the moment it starts playing. The "As It Was" of the year.

Rema and Selena Top 3 :clap3: It's come a long way, not sure if it's going to reach the top, but it might have a chance. Callouts improving while we speak, great streaming and "Flowers" has significant burnout rate allegedly (and logically).

Miguel has everything to go to the top, and I'm rooting for it. Honestly, it's fascinating to look up the chart and see two 2011 songs and one 2016 songs being in the Top 20, almost all 3 of them inside the Top 10 in 2023! Crazy how the dynamics are changing nowadays.

Ed looks safe to reach a Top 10 placement in the upcoming days, but I'm not so sure about its future, streams and audience's reaction don't seem to correspond to the airplay rank, it's only based on Ed's history on Pop radio and it's a lead single, but it might stall in the lower region of the Top 10. I picture "Take My Breath" as an example.

"River" really came and went, poor single choice, "Jaded" already Top 50 is very good. "Flowers" still atop lol.

So many songs that are just not clicking with GP, my God, it isn't surprising Pop doesn't move on from the same hits in the Top 10. Nevertheless, "ceilings" deserves way more push, plus, it would be a great song to mix with all the other genres. But of course, Pop takes its time with "slow" songszz.

All 3 were in the Top 10 last week (4/9 chart for Mediabase, 4/15 for Billboard)

Hasn't that been the case since early 2020, though? I'd rejoice if Pop radio even went back to the 2017-2019 speed of turnover.
