Lucas32 Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 Boys did nothing for me sadly. The pre-chorus melody is neat but other than that I couldn't do much with it sadly, like most of Charli's material this year. The National

The National Yeah after finally getting around to Number 1 Angel, I know I did Charli wrong. For whatever reason I never delved into her discography deeply so I never bothered to listen to it when it came out Sucks cuz I'm sure it would've made my albums list. On to Pop 2 40 minutes ago, Eeveelution said: Eye like these! You lied about Fetish being better than Bad Liarsus tho. Sorry sis but I tell no lies Bad Liar would not be receiving the acclaim it's getting if not for the Talking Heads sample. Fact OT: @Vxspertine I remember you told me to @ you when I got my thread up Thots?

Wicked Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 Wild Thoughts will forever be trash because of Bryson Tiller. I can't. I like the rest tho.

MP2K Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 I feel like I don't give Shy Girls a chance. That song is cute, listening to it now. Fake Happy - good to see it. The National and Washed Out too.

Pink Matter Posted December 22, 2017 Author Posted December 22, 2017 (edited) Top 100 Singles Singles 90-81 90) Khalid|Location One of the few singles by some of the newcomers in the mainstream that piqued my interest this year. The strumming in the production mixed with his vocal performance is a highlight. Love how the production gets a bit more fleshed out in the outro too. 89) AlunaGeorge|Last Kiss This is trend-hopping done right. I wasn't that much of a fan of AG's sophomore album as it seemed they lost what made them special by chasing after a more commercial sound. Last Kiss does follow the tropical house wave but manages to do so with more interesting production. Aluna's vocals add more charm to the song to it too. 88) Dasher|We Know So What's interesting about this song is that this band managed to make a grimey rock tune with punkish howls an absolute bop. I feel like rockin' out to this every time I play it. We know so We know so We know so 87) Niall Horan|Slow Hands One of the three ex-1D members on my list and I'm surprised by how much I enjoyed this song. I had a feeling he would go down the bland folk-pop route but was surprised by how rhythmic and groovy this song turned out. His peak I'm sure. 86) Zara Larsson|So Good (feat. Ty Dolla $ign) Another surprise entry, I didn't expect Zara to impress me with her debut as much as she did. Another solid urban-pop track. Her vocals were strong here and she and Ty sounded great together. 85) Anna Wise|Stackin' That Paper A really groovy feminist anthem about Anna making money on her own as an act of defiance against men who think they can dictate her and women like her. An absolute bop and there's a slight guitar solo in the bridge that gives the song the extra kick. 84) Tove Lo|Disco **** If I'm being honest, Miss Tove is not really an artist I care to listen to all that often. Her sexdrugssexdrugssexdrugs and more sexanddrugs shtick doesn't really do it for me in large doses because it all gets so boring but every now and then, she always catches my ear. Disco ****, like many of her lead singles, is an extremely catchy earworm. The dance-y production is a highlight and I love the way she sings the beginning of the verses. 83) Björk|the gate a very pretty song 82) Princess Nokia|Kitana me when this song is played: Spoiler 81) Aminé|Spice Girl A nice lil dose of bubbly pop-rap, Aminé raps about the kind of girl that makes him comfortable to be around. He want that Scary, Sporty, Ginger Spice! Edited December 24, 2017 by Pink Matter
Lucas32 Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 Location is a bop. Glad to see Anna Wise on another list she's still overlooked sadly. The Gate is fantastic of course and Disco t!ts is a bop.
