I agree that the second half (or rather songs 5-11) is impeccable. I also am really enjoying first four songs but Two Horses is where it really starts. The album definitely sounds much much better after a few listens, the dense instrumentalisation, layers, and pace changes require getting used to, but when it hits it becomes really addictive Currently, my ranking for their albums would be: AFUT Forever Howlong FTFT Live at Bush Hall

I fear what this shows us is that you need to have a solid fanbase to have longevity... the gp's support come and goes, you need to have a loyal audience that will keep you afloat. But even without considering the fanbase, ed sheeran and katy obviously had a decline in the quality of their music which explains the flop. Miley's music is good but for some reason she doesn't have a strong fanbase and relies too much on the GP/label push. I guess it's probably cause she doesn't use social media or interact with her fans at all, she doesn't even tour..
