Venting: God there’s nothing I hate more than a success stan. Always complaining about numbers, complaining about promo not being enough, complaining about the song not having the formula to be a hit; always criticizing the artist for every little thing just cause of some chart placement and always never knowing when to stfu about it. people like that ruin the fun for everyone else. The amount of ppl on Twitter who were gagging over Houdini just to say it “aged” after first week and start switching on Dua is crazy. I don’t even blame the loves here for not even wanting to engage in this thread anymore, and it doesn’t even surprise me that the Twitter loves that genuinely enjoy Houdini like I do aren’t even active anymore because their tl (just like mine) are filled with people complaining about numbers.

Well In my opinion it is her best documentary film and contains her best concert footage; the technical quality and the creative content of that footage is outstanding. It is not her best concert film. The documentary digressions are too many and too long, and they hinder the live show’s propulsion. Go into it like it’s a tour documentary, not a concert film. The timing of some of the cuts from performance to BTS is baffling. There is without a doubt enough documentary footage for another whole film(s), as it should have been. Specifically I was disappointed that the exhilarating vogue ball was cut from its place, moved far forward and reduced to a few short excerpts within a documentary break. To me that was the heart of the show and I miss it hugely. Other than my qualms with the questionable editing (including the weirdly abrupt start and finish) I say that this film is the most valuable record of one of the greatest musical artists and performers of all time at the peak of her creativity, prowess, and humanity. You come away having felt you’ve met a complete, satisfied artist and woman who has found what she’s searched for. She is so happy. That’s mother.

I don’t think that part is a secret though. Shawn and celebrities like him talk about the industry being very isolating and how it’s hard to feel anyone is genuine since people in the industry are always after something. These church-cults then recruit celebrities by creating the most genuine places where everyone is open. They’re relieved to find places where people aren’t looking to get something out of them, where someone is real enough to cry in front of them and not worry about the usual industry ****. A lot of them just want community and think they finally found that, not realizing it was just designed to feel perfect to people like them.
