uneventful ("Slow Disco")

Mythological Beauty :alexz:

Moses' album is very beautifully performed which is why it's good. Imagine a basic-ass singer trying to make an album like that :dies:

Not you saying Pills and Slow Disco are the worst tracks :skull: They're among my favorites and there are some other tracks that are painfully generic on Asseduction

The thing with Pills is that it sounds like 3 or 4 tracks at the same time. It isn't neccesarily a bad thing because Kelela's Take Me Apart follows the same suit and works, but then again Kelela didn't try that hard to make it succeed :cm: Annie probably had a checklist with things she'd have to do to get the acclaim for this song and thought if she'd make this a bop and would get Kamasi to play on the outro it'd work :skull:

everything now :skull: they really baited us in with that one good track. but they delivered the kii's so i can't fault them for that.

i didn't mind mount kimbie's album this time around but nothing really stuck out to me. big thief <3

masseduction too low! but at least it's here

On thing I'm hoping for is that they knew what they were doing with this album and will return to form with their next one. But knowing them, that's not the case :rip:

I feel almost the same way with Mount Kimbie, Delta is the only exception nn

It was always MASSEDUCTION, without the A. She explains the title here at 3:36 :cm:

First of all, I wanna drag this for being all over the place but I’m just gonna blame Jack Antonoff for that.

Hmm I kinda agree with both placements for Aromanticism & Masseducation. I liked both too.

I did, I overhyped the **** out of the album :skull: And I wasn't even disappointed after my first listen, hell, I initially called it her second best album :rip: But then my common sense came back to me :foxaylove2:

as soon as I saw you'd removed the tag you put on it in the upcoming releases thread I kinda knew :foxaylove2:  it's my favourite St. VIncent album tho. sorry :gaycat3:

nn :ahh: This wasn't exactly the case, I think I removed it the day it came out. The last sentence though...

i think you did too because i remember asking you in the thread but my thought process was why remove it if it's worthy of the title :fan:

I'm mostly familiar with ST and MASS. I've listened to Strange Mercy but not enough to have a proper opinion of it. Actor and Marry Me? :gaycat4:

ST kinda drags a bit in the middle whereas MASS is 5/5 from start to finish so it wins by a considerable margin. If I got into the other three albums properly I guess it'd change though

To be fair, I also removed the "talent" tag from Utopia the day it came out :fan:

Strange Mercy is easily her best, it's so tight, focused and balanced :jonny: One of the best albums released this decade actually. I think s/t is her second best but it sure drags a biT here and there and by here and there I mean Regret and Psychopath. Then there's either Actor or MASSEDUCTION, I haven't made up my mind yet :rip:

Actor is my favorite by a small margin cause self-titled and Strange Mercy are nearly tied with it for me. And from what I know your taste I think you'll love it and it'll be your favorite if you have taste xo

Everything Now is a genuinely great song, such a shame about the album :'(

Pills and Savior are top 3 on Masseduction :biblio:

Mythological Beauty and Aromanticism :clap3:

Stop acting like MASSECUTION was a giant let down!

Everything Now :clap3:

The disjointedness of Pills is what makes the song :fish2: And do not come for Slow Disco :fish2:

Good set!

Arcade has much better songs in their disc. but Everything Now grew on me last minute.

The Courtneys! I played Lost Boys a lot this year

"Mythological Beauty" :flower:

Posted

I didn't really vibe with the new st vincent album. :'(

Everything Now (song) > EN (album) :eli:

Masseduction :clap3: I think it's her best so far

Masseduction a polarizing statement :jonny: I thought u'd have it higher for sure but glad it made the list! Moses his album was stunning and the AF rollout was something else but I can vibe with the title track too.

I couldn't get into Big Thief but then I never actually listened to the album full so maybe my fault.

Give Big Thief another shot, it'd be worth it! Maybe try just with the singles idk. But tbf my love for Capacity wasn't immediate either.
