Starting off with the song that made everyone believe that 'Everything Now' would be a great album. Oh how naïve we were  Still, the album's title track is pure Gold

The contrast between distorted guitars and Harmony Tividad's soft and somewhat vulnerable lead vocals works so damn fine on here. 'Powerpool's' centerpiece is a great example of Girlpool's maturation.

When not singing about vampire teenage boyfriends, The Courtneys make shiny, relatable indie rock anthems. And nothing you say and nothing you do/Can stop me from thinking about you

On incredibly personal "Mythological Beauty" Big Thief's Adrienne Lenker reflects on her mother's life, her own childhood and their relationship. It's simple and strikingly beautiful.

There's hardly anyone better at blending different genres together more than Moses Sumney - I have no clue how to even classify his debut album (it's not r&b though). I do know however what makes 'Aromanticism' so good. It's his ethereal voice, minimal production and challenging songwriting.

First of all, I wanna drag this for being all over the place but I’m just gonna blame Jack Antonoff for that. If we ignore the disjoined ("Pills") or uneventful ("Savior," "Dancing with a Ghost" + "Slow Disco") songs, the album's actually good! It may lack the career highlights, but hey, it doesn't stand out (in a bad way) from her other records.

Mythological Beauty  

 

Moses' album is very beautifully performed which is why it's good. Imagine a basic-ass singer trying to make an album like that 

Not you saying Pills and Slow Disco are the worst tracks  They're among my favorites and there are some other tracks that are painfully generic on Asseduction

everything now they really baited us in with that one good track. but they delivered the kii's so i can't fault them for that.

 

i didn't mind mount kimbie's album this time around but nothing really stuck out to me. big thief <3
