Cloröx Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 Rooting for no Witness on your lists. Garbage should remain as garbage, isn't it?

Jackson Posted December 17, 2017 Author Posted December 17, 2017 95. GABRIEL GARZÓN-MONTANO - CRAWL 28 plays Thanks to @Lémur for showing me this one! Good to know you have taste this time. This is one of the edgier songs on my list. 94. SAM OUTLAW - BOTTOMLESS MIMOSAS 29 plays It may be country, but it's good country! A California soaked, soft rock tinged Americana tune, Bottomless Mimosas is one of the year's oddest empowerment anthems lyrically, but also one of the best. 93. TOVE LO - BITCHES 29 plays I kinda disliked this song when it was first featured on the Fairy Dust short film, so I was surprised when it became one of my favorite songs on Blue Lips (which, contrary to popular opinion, is better than Lady Wood). 92. IMAGINE DRAGONS - DANCING IN THE DARK 30 plays I'm pretty sure every song on this album made it on this list, so it wasn't necessarily my favorite from the album, but the album was strong enough to land all of its tracks on the list. Still, a groovy R&B track was unexpected for the end of an Imagine Dragons album 91. BLACKBEAR - DOUBLE 30 plays Although Do Re Mi got all the attention, Double was the actual album standout in my opinion. It's lowkey and slick in all the right ways, and not overly pretentious like a good amount of the singer's tracks (and tweets).

ATRL Moderator feelslikeadream Posted December 17, 2017 ATRL Moderator Posted December 17, 2017 Omg wait, Blue Lips came out? I forgot to listen and I love Lady Wood and QOTC
Achilles. Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 I s2g if DemI Lovato and Imagine Dragons really do take up a fifth of this list... But I guess I shouldn’t expect better from a Katy stan.

Jackson Posted December 18, 2017 Author Posted December 18, 2017 90. ZAYNA/SIA - DUSK TILL DAWN 30 plays Zayn kinda lost his spark after his debut, but this Sia assisted track is a cute cinematic love song reminiscent of a 50SOG track. 89. NIALL HORAN - SLOW HANDS 30 plays What's this? Niall outdoing Zayn by a single position? Well, it's deserved. Slow Hands was an amazing, if expected, slow jam from the former 1D member. Spoiler alert: this concludes the 1D tracks on this list. 88. MANSIONZ - MY BELOVED 30 plays Not gonna lie, I first checked out this album because I thought the album cover was some homoerotic allusion to the contents therein, but what I actually heard was about just as enticing. Much like Double in the last update, the best song on the album was not the most well known. 87. SUFJAN STEVENS (& FRIENDS) - SATURN 30 plays Although it never quite reached the highs of Carrie & Lowell, Planetarium was a quite strong project that mixed the electro-schizophrenia of Age of Adz with the subdued low-fi of Carrie & Lowell. 86. KATY PERRY - MIND MAZE 31 plays This song honestly gets more hate than it deserved! Is it the best on Witness? No. But it's a new step in an interesting direction for Katy, and the autotuned madness of the chorus is lowkey infection. Not to mention the highlight of the song - the electronic/vocoder breakdown at the end of the track.
Achilles. Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 I just started getting into Sufjan Stevens this year (CMBYN its power). ... and is that Niall comment a sign (of the times) that Hazza isn’t coming?
Jet Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 Bitches I kinda really hate all the autotune in Mind Maze
Witnessed ET Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 (edited) Oh wow I like every single song on your list so far...what is happening? Lol edit: Sufjan Edited December 18, 2017 by Witnessed ET

Jackson Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 85. JOHN MAYER - MOVING ON AND GETTING OVER 31 plays A breakup with Katy Perry and a few years break made for what is possibly Mayer's greatest album.Moving On and Getting Over is possibly the greatest example of the stylistic shift of the album. 84. KYGO/ELLIE GOULDING - FIRST TIME 31 plays Although it doesn't quite reach the highs of Delirium, First Time was an enjoyable bridge for the wait between albums. It may be a Closer clone, but Closer was one of my top 10 songs of last year! 83. CARDI B - BODAK YELLOW 31 plays Hardly any rap songs made my year end list, but Bodak Yellow was THAT BOP. I don't think anyone expected Cardi to churn out one of the year's biggest hits, but I don't think anyone's complaining now. 82. BAD SUNS - THIS WAS A HOME ONCE 31 plays I might be one of the biggest Bad Suns stans on here, and it's always hard to wait a couple years between albums, but this stand alone single helped made the wait a little easier. 81. MARTIN GARRIX/TROYE SIVAN - THERE FOR YOU 32 plays We have to support our fellow gays! A bop!

Jackson Posted December 21, 2017 Author Posted December 21, 2017 80. CLEAN BANDIT / JULIA MICHAELS - I MISS YOU 32 plays Julia and Clean Bandit both had BIG years for me, and this is just a taste of what's to come for both. The song's a lowkey bop with a simple but effortlessly catchy hook. 79. JOHN MAYER - EMOJI OF A WAVE 32 plays John gets extra points for the creative title. This is one of the strongest tracks on Mayer's tracks. Unlike Moving On and Getting Over, this one's more reminiscent of his earlier works. 77. JAX JONES / DEMI LOVATO / STEFFLON DON - INSTRUCTION 32 plays I still don't get the sriracha sauce album cover, but a bop is a bop! This one deserved better stateside. 77. NOAH CYRUS - STAY TOGETHER 32 plays Almost Famous definitely outsold, but this was a cute early summer bop to bridge the gap between pop girl releases. 76. MUNA - I KNOW A PLACE 32 plays Big thanks to @Citrus for showing me this one. This is one of the best lesbian-pop songs I've heard, and manages to combine a sense of urgency with fresh, club ready synths successfully to create what should be an LGBT anthem.
