GoodGuyGoneGhetto
"Gummo" is an entertaining rap song. 6ix9ine's flow and delivery and especially his tone is appealing. I've listened to several of his other songs and he seems to fit the 'Gangsta Rap/Hardcore Hip-Hop' mold than anything else. Moreover, he is LITERALLY gaining heavier traction as of late because of the amount of hate he's recieveing from online keyboard warriors. It's no coincidence how popular he currently is on U.S YouTube and I'm not surprised either. Those streaming his music are fans, plain and simple. If this song were to go #1, I'd be extremely pleased. As for those debating whether the song is 'urban', yes, it is. Hip-Hop/Rap fit into the urban-contemporary umbrella thus making it an urban-orientated song. Neither 'Gucci Gang' or 'Gummo' are representations of "Mumble rap". Furthermore, this is the U.S charts, the most important and influential chart in the world, and a reflection of what songs are currently popular in the United States. GoodGuyGoneGhetto
@brianc33616 I absolutely agree with you with regards to the advent of a 'Power points' system being implemented by Billboard into the Hot 100 formula. The status and ranking of songs that may not have experienced lengthy chart longevity but sold in inexplicably large amounts early in their chart runs need to be revised and maximised especially when their points total tripled, quadrupled or quitupled (or more) every other song in the top ten at any given time. Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" is one of the more prominent cases. The song debuted at #40 before skyrocketing to #12 the following week and then #1 during its third week of release. It may have only spent 16 weeks in the top ten, however during its fourteen week tenure at the pole position it went onto sell a gargantuan 4.3M+ physical units: 1.7M+ units in 1992 over 5 weeks and 2.5M+ units in 1993 over 9 weeks with its total sales standing at 4.5M+ overall which was absolutely unprecedented at the time. It's sales timeline during its 14 weeks at #1: 1st Week Sales: 105K 2nd Week Sales: 135K 3rd Week Sales: 391K 4th Week Sales: 457K 5th Week Sales: 632K 6th Week Sales: 638K 7th Week Sales: 540K 8th Week Sales: 413K 9th Week Sales: 363K 10th Week Sales: 208K 11th Week Sales: 141K 12th Week Sales: 116K 13th Week Sales: 102K 14th Week Sales: 100K = 4.4M+ During its 3rd to 9th weeks at number one it quadrupled the points of the number two song (Shai: "If I Ever Fall In Love") and had more points than the top ten combined not to mention that it obliterated U.S airplay records in being the first song to pass 80M+ AI throughout those weeks also. It's ranked far too low on the all-time Hot 100 in my opinion (its #45) and the same applies to 'End of the Road', 'Macarena', 'Candle In The Wind', 'Hello' etc. Edited December 10, 2017 by GoodGuyGoneGhetto

Urban music continues to be subpar in comparison to the past and if the likes of Panda, Migos songs and other mess can dominate I don't see why gummo is much different. 1 hour ago, ATRL's WP Magnet said: http://kworb.net/youtube/insights/us_daily.html 1. = 6ix9ine - Gummo 5,509,972 +470,730 INSANE 3. Yes, you give the teens power and they will determine they are more attracted to these types of songs vs other types of songs. It only reflects a popularity for a certain audience but this is the streaming era they wanted. Messy songs dominating because of a gimmick and double counting to equate to an actual sale of an album.
