This season, there were so many surprising blindsides and power shifts that rl231 and I felt compelled to rank the top ten biggest and most entertaining tribal councils of the season. 

 

To get started, here are a few honorable mentions:

- Guero becomes the first ~big move~ of the season

Taeyeon Blows Up Lussan

I know that many of you wondered who the hell Taeyeon was, as he only had about 10 posts total by the time his elimination came around. But to quickly summarize, I've played Survivor with him on another website and invited him to play knowing that he had an ATRL account. Despite doing pretty well at the challenges, Taeyeon just didn't seem to connect with the rest of his tribe (except for Citrus), and they took him out in a 4-2-1 vote during the third round. Following this vote, Taeyeon blew up his tribe in the thread by ranting about how clique-y they were and full of ~snakes~. Needless to say, Lussan did not have much success after this turning point -- only Citrus and Kathlen made the merge. Kathlen was truly a success story given the Lussan curse! But thank you @Taeyeon for contributing to the first entertaining vote of the season.

Lucky#17 Blindside

After playing a pretty flawless game, without any votes cast against him until the final five, rl231 and I were convinced that @Lucky#17 was going to make it to the final tribal council and had a VERY strong shot of winning the game. He had his hand in a lot of cookie jars, but unfortunately Marvin, Kathlen, and Riri decided to pull the rug out from underneath him. When Lucky and Aciid were voting different ways to avoid a potential immunity idol, the other three came together to take out Lucky. This was a blindside to the hosts too because everyone initially voted Kathlen/Riri, and then suddenly switched as the deadline approached. Oddly enough, while Aciid was not a FAN of this move and was left out, it probably put him in the position to have the best chance of winning the entire game!

The Merge Double Elimination

In an ATRL Survivor first, the entire merged tribe cast TWO votes a piece and TWO people would go home. With idols in play and 28 votes to take into account, this had the potential to get pretty messy. In the end, @Rhisiart and @Lucky#17 played double agent, convincing Losing my ground's alliance that they were with him, while ultimately voting with the other side. talent and Riri. were saved by the skin of their teeth, and @K$Ellie and @Loveyoubxtch became the first members of the jury. The ill-fated Pinkbeard group gave rise to our runner-up, Kathlen, and season-long front-runner Fruity, but ultimately neither won, showing how hard it is to win when you are on the losing side of that crucial first vote of the merge.
