It's awful XXXtentacion is doing so well when he beat a pregnant woman last year. :mazen:

Did he release a new album or something? I see multiple chart entries by him on the hot 100.

That's like saying the GP won't remember BTW or Hello :rip:

No its nothing like saying that. In the grand scheme of things I dont see this song ever being recognized as one of her biggest or best hits. Its getting attention & kinda doing the job(remains to be seen if it sells the album) but nobodies lauding it as a classic. Not even her biggest stans. lets be real.

To be fair, the GP doesn't remember "Born This Way." Meanwhile "Hello" is still recent enough to be in people's memory. After all, it did win a number of Grammys just 7 months ago.

That isn't to say the GP hasn't forgotten the other girls' number ones as well. Nobody would remember "S&M" or "E.T." either.

You talking about lwymmd?  Its not forgotten in the least, were it not for her own song dethroning it, it'd be going on 14 consecutive days at #1 on iTunes.  How is that forgotten?

SARCASM. Sorry, forgot to add that.

Maybe random, but while doing the 2017 Building Year-End Chart, I could estimate the influence per component for this year on the Hot 100, and right now I got: 21% Sales + 27% Airplay + 52% Streaming.

For simply curiosity, I'll also let you this:

Most sales-driven hits:

  1. Lady Gaga - "Million Reasons" (50.23%)
  2. Auli'i Cravalho - "How Far I'll Go" (41.59%)
  3. Niall Horan - "This Town" (41.13%)
  4. Jon Bellion - "All Time Low" (37.88%)
  5. Little Big Town - "Better Man" (36.58%)

Most airplay-driven hits:

  1. ADELE - "Water Under the Bridge" (59.42%)
  2. Alessia Cara - "Scars to Your Beautiful" (57.52%)
  3. Sia - "Cheap Thrills (feat. Sean Paul)" (56.00%)
  4. Maroon 5 - "Don't Wanna Know (feat. Kendrick Lamar)" (54.74%)
  5. Shawn Mendes - "Treat You Better" (50.83%)

Most streaming-driven hits:

  1. XXXTENTACION - "Look At Me!" (92.44%)
  2. Kendrick Lamar - "LOVE. (feat. ZACARI.)" (89.17%)
  3. Playboi Carti - "Magnolia" (86.46%)
  4. Tee Grizzley - "First Day Out" (86.42%)
  5. Drake - "Portland (feat. Quavo & Travis Scott)" (85.81%)

its so funny when random people speak for 400 million people in the US, all four of those songs are remembered lol.

Speaking in general terms they aren't. People in ATRL tend to think current pop music on the charts is known by everyone. The GP is literally oblivious to what's on the charts and can't be bothered to remember random songs, especially dated old ass songs with no recurrent airplay or longtime cultural impact.

Remains to be seen if it sells the album? Hun...100k+ preorders...2+ months before the album...off the strength of this single alone.

It was a statement piece to introduce a new era and generate hype/sales for the new album. It's doing that and then some, breaking every record along the way.

Bodak is doing better on AM than Spotify, but pretty much every urban song does.

Are you seriously comparing this song to Hello??? Nnnn, and BTW is one of Gaga's most forgotten hits. Poker Face and Just Dance are more remembered, hell even Bad Romance is more remembered and it never hit #1... Let's not act as if this new #1 will have real impact in history.

Gurl bye... the phrase Born This Way is basically attached to Gaga if you know Gaga then you know Born This Way.

And some streams were reported for Thursday night, it didn't debut because of pure airplay.

Not sure if Billboard really counted those streams. Seemed closer to being just the airplay tbh

It's a shame they didn't report any initial numbers (not even Airplay). :noparty:

I'd say E.T. & S&M aren't really remembered either, but you're comparing Rih/Katy's weak #1's with Gaga/Adele's big #1's

Firework, Umbrella, Roar, I kissed a girl, California Girls, We Found Love, and many more Katy/Rih hits are remembered
