Duca Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 (edited) CHART STORY: KHALED STILL KING DJ Khaled’s Grateful (We the Best/Epic) remains #1 on the Sales Plus Streaming (SPS) Chart this week with approximately 68k. Columbia’s Calvin Harris follows at #2, as Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1—another star-studded set—scores the highest debut with 63k. Showcasing impressive stamina, Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. (TDE/Interscope) continues to rack up huge streams, holding at #3 with 56k, while the also-dependable Ed Sheeran breaks back into the Top 5 with 36k for Atlantic set Divide. As for the other noteworthy debuts, Stone Sour’s Hydrograd (Roadrunner) bows at #6 with 33k, while Columbia’s soundtrack to Baby Driver, which is being widely praised for its use of music, makes its entrance at #25. On a related note, we at HITS remain stoned and sour.Shawn Mendes’ Illuminate (Island) makes one of this week’s more noteworthy moves, jumping #29-20. Single “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” was put on sale for 69-cents on iTunes, where it’s currently sitting at #4. The hit is also about to climb into the Top 10 at Pop radio. When it comes to the SPS marketshare battle, UMG is #1 with 49% and SME is #2 with 31%, while WMG follows with 19%. Streeting this week are new albums from Columbia’s HAIM and Slaughter Gang/Epic’s 21 Savage, as well as the wide-release of Jay-Z’s 4:44 (Roc Nation), which actually dropped last week, but as a Tidal exclusive. YOUR POST-HOLIDAY HANGOVER TOP 20: DJ BATTLE? It may be another battle for #1 this week, as DJ Khaled looks to repeat against the debuting Calvin Harris. This may change if Tidal reports streams and sales for Jay-Z’s new album. At this point it appears 4:44 won’t be reported, as no daily info has yet appeared. The album is exclusive to Tidal in its first week and is expected to go wide on Friday. (*) Calvin Harris (Columbia) 57-62k SPS, 22-25k sales DJ Khaled (We The Best/Epic) 55-60k, 12-15k Kendrick Lamar (TDE/Interscope) 50-55K, 10-12K Imagine Dragons (Kidinakorner/Interscope) 40-45k, 13-15k 2 Chainz (Def Jam) 33-37k, 7-9k Drake (YMCMB/Republic) 30-35k, 1-2k (*) Stone Sour (Roadrunner) 30-35k, 28-32k Bruno Mars (Atlantic) 30-35k, 12-14k Ed Sheeran (Atlantic) 30-35k, 9-11k Moana (Walt Disney) 27-30k, 13-15k Post Malone (Republic) 27-30k, 1-2k SZA (TDE/RCA) 24-27k, 4-5k Khalid (Right Hand Music/RCA) 24-27k, 2-4k Migos (Quality Control) 21-24k, 1-3k Lorde (Lava/Republic) 18-21k, 8-10k Trolls (RCA) 18-20k, 9-11k The Weeknd (XO/Republic) 17-19k, 2-4k Future (Epic) 16-18k, <1k Chris Stapleton (Mercury Nashville) 15-17k, 12-14k The Chainsmokers (Disruptor/Columbia) 15-17k, 2-3k (*) Debuts NEW RELEASES IN OVERTIME While We The Best/Epic's DJ Khaled and KIDinaKORNER/Interscope's Imagine Dragons remain deadlocked in the battle for #1, both label teams are lobbying hard and aggressively challenging what does and doesn't get counted. There's more high drama in this contest than in any in recent memory as both sides roll out the heavy artillery. Stay tuned for the final count as soon as it's available. In the meantime, let's take a look at early reads on two brand new releases. Calvin Harris (Columbia) 55-65k SPS, 19-24k salesSuperfruit (RCA) 13-18k, 11-15k DJ/producer Harris' full-length features such guests as Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry, Future, Ariana Grande, Khalid, Travis Scott and Big Sean. Superfruit's new EP (with a sequel slated to follow) showcases the playful pop of Penatonix harmonizers Scott Hoying and Mitch Grassi. Edited July 8, 2017 by Duca
GoneHome Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 55-65K SPS is decent, considering Motion (which is 100x better) only sold 70K copies in the US in total and 35K in first week
Divine Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 Expected the low pure sales, but 55-65K SPS is still lower than what I expected.
igetfilthy Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 65k max with SPS? Jay will only need 99M streams to go #1 then. Which is very likely going to happen.

Same Ol' Mistakes Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 (edited) Y'all are doing too much. Did you expect a dance album to sell like 150k? It's fine for him, considering he was planning to release a song every month and not an album. Hope he continues with the Vol. 2. EDIT: I just realized #1 for Jay is on lock. Especially with Jay-Z sucking all the air out the room. It probably would've done the same any other week.

Yeah, those video streams won't count towards the BB200, so I don't get why they did that. Anyways, rooting for ID
Aleks Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 He was never a big album seller, so not a big surprise there. SPS could have been higher though.
