smilervoticat Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Predicting anywhere from 2.5-3 million for EOTW's global Spotify debut based on Spotify artist chart but could be even lower due to filtering…
RadioactiveLights Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago I really don't care if this bombs on the charts. It's such a nice, nostalgic, and sweet song. I'm in love with the verses and the "ohs" in the chorus are so euphoric 9
Donquizote Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Predicting 3M at most. Still no update from spotify
MAKSIM Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago I'll say 3.1 mil debut since it got a true 24 hours of tracking as opposed to the typical midnight US release, but probably a big drop for tomorrow's numbers. I don't see the point of a visual album if the visuals are similar to Something Beautiful and End of the World. She's going to need promo beyond that if she wants something to stick this era.
Donquizote Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Kinda weird still no update from Spotify. Perhaps it sold out on spotify
PokiTails Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Maybe Spotify got an error 504 so they get stream timeout

Miley being active on social media herself (instead of posting like a robot) could actually change the era's trajectory easily. everyone knows ppl love seeing her showing authenticity & her character on display. but since she's still pushing that "i don't look for numbers!! numbers don't define me!! social media doesn't exist to me!!" narrative, she's missing out on keeping her dedicated fanbase alive so yeah This is exactly what's been missing for the past two years. Seriously, what happened to her? Her personality is one of the main reasons people love her, and this Beyoncé-like, larger-than-life, too good for social media thing isn't working at all.... it's giving posthumous era. Even in the middle of the pandemic, she was going all out for Plastic Hearts and appearing on every show like rent was due. Take Flowers and that Grammy aside, and signing with Columbia was one of the worst things she's ever done. 1 1

She's always been the down to earth celebrity people could get respite from in the sea of out of touch musicians and influencers 1

Wildcat Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Why is Spotify taking so long, omg Anyways, EOTW has been unanimously praised and sounds like a hit; the music isn't the problem and this isn't the first time she's flopped with a stellar lead single ("Midnight Sky"). The reality is that Miley's core fanbase is almost nonexistent nowadays, even on ATRL. She's a household name and people like her but she's nobody's favorite pop diva, if that makes sense. It doesn't help that she hasn't had a proper arena tour in 11 years and refuses to promote, give interviews or engage with her fans like she did during "Plastic Hearts" - there's only so much Columbia can do. She's no Beyoncé and lighting isn't going to strike twice. "Flowers" and the Grammys were hinting at a career renaissance, but maybe for her, it was more of a victory lap. At the moment she seems content with performing in her backyard and releasing music without commercial expectations. I just wish she would get help to overcome her anxiety, as she's a natural performer and touring is the one thing she could rely on as a legacy act when the hits stop coming. On a much positive note, she looks amazing and the album is shaping up to be her most critically acclaimed to date, so there's that . 1
Aethereal Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago "ohhh ohhh" part I get it, but it should've been more polished, sounds a bit off. I like the song, don't think it will huge tho.
JevyDuty Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago If you are really expecting 3M you're gonna be very very disappointed
Démodé Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago It's cute but Something Beautiful outsold, it's bolder, riskier and far more interesting 1
Freakshowvato Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago BTW from the 5 songs I heard from this album, this is by far the strongest. If this fails, everything else falters. Why do you guys think its flopping? Anything above 2M debut is good in my opinion.
Freakshowvato Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago This song is the opposite of a grower. I feel it gets mundane with repeated listening bc the melody is so repetitive. Its similar to CMWYBU, where at first its fun feel good, later it gets a bit old and unpleasant to replay. I still think this sound works best for Miley, the disco vibes with a sweet melody. im rooting for you Miley. If she does flop, she needs to revisit how she consistently fails to build a tangible fandom and is essentially anti social.
smilervoticat Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago "Miley's fans" can't even remember the last time she said "smilers" but hey if she wants to make the best music of her career go unnoticed that's her choice
seancarter Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago 1.5 to 2 million is coming and it's what she deserves... get out of your HOUSE

HandsInTheAir Posted 17 hours ago Author Posted 17 hours ago 2,723,984 unfiltered streams on Spotify.. I thought it would be much worse so let's just keep streaming

I get what you mean, but I wouldn't say Midnight Sky was a flop at all. There was a lot of hype from what I remember, and it was a return to form after Mother's Daughter and Slide Away both flopped into oblivion (justice for her best song!). The music video got 10M views in 24 hours, this isn't didn't even touch 1M. Not to mention, it became a big hit all over Europe. You didn't lie, tho. Her fan base isn't anywhere near other MPGs. Thankfully, it's not a Katy Perry situation where nobody likes her AND she has no fans left, but she needs to put in the work if she wants a hit.
MaxMartin Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago tbh her behavior towards her fans & social media approach is very weird, no wonder people are not connecting with her music. Flowers was a fluke , it was one of those songs that pandered to everyone , a GP song
wish Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I'm not THAT mad about the 2.7M debut. The AM numbers were pointing towards something worse. There is room for growth, people seem to genuinely enjoy this song. Let's see if good word of mouth (and autoplay) can turn this into a sleeper hit. 2
OrgVisual Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago The promo is non-existent so far. I think they are going for the slow burn approach and go all out with the promo once the album drops I heard another single is already scheduled for next week??
