The TTH position sucks, but Columbia is quick to react if they see promise. They flooded everything into Flowers after the first week and didn't let up for months.

The main issue (and it's already been said) is that she doesn't have enough fans to show promise in the early stages. There's no narrative to this release like Flowers, so the only selling point is the song being good enough that whoever does discover it will replay it.

Commercial appeal isn't her only focus given the title track, but this was obviously made to be a hit and they're most likely hesitant after Doctor and UTBY.

If this debuts around 3.5-5m and can hold in that range, I think they'll put more into it.

The thing is Miley usually debuts in that range WITH TTH like Midnight Sky was #13 and managed to debut with over 3m. Seems like EOTW doesn't even have a radio premiere deal like all her previous lead singles where they play at the top of the hour for the whole day so I'm honestly so confused

This is not what I expected AT ALL...

But this ABBA video-vibe, and the "feel good" 70-80s pop influence is bubbling under....IM HERE FOR IT

I'm at a point where I'm like… do I preorder the vinyl?… SB and now EOTW both SOTY contenders, amazing material so far.

Who cares about numbers?? This era she's cementing herself as an excellent ARTIST and collecting Grammys from different genres

Oh here's the creepy unclefloprry with his obsessive miley hate that is totally original and not tired and weak at all!:cm:

Not I heart radio though which is like a given for any high profile/a list release 😩

Yeah she doesn't have an official radio deal, some radios just playing all new releases on Friday and then never playing the song again

My god, stop obsessing about playlists and enjoy the music.

It's cute but it doesn't really sound like a hit that the gp would eat up but we'll see

Another great song, reminds me of Less than Zero

Honestly, I don't care about hits this era. The girl is SERVING.

This is insanely ABBA-coded and me lovin' it :duca:

The verses :deadbanana4: I thought I was listening to Mamma Mia for a sec. Overall solid song, very bright and upbeat. I could do without the ooohs throughout the chorus though.
