They have enough enough money In their own pockets  to help ,there's no need for this vanity project.

I'm glad they are helping out, but do we really need a donation drive here?  Disasters happen all the time and it kind of feels like this one is getting special treatment because it affected people with higher incomes.

It gets special treatment because it's in the US and a lot of these organizers and celebrities are American so for them it hits closer to home. But the fires are not just affecting rich people, lots of income levels are affected. We only hear about the rich celebrities homes.

Where does it say in the link only billionaires contributed to her prior fund hotline event?

Well if you had watched the concert special you would've seen this being mentioned in between most performances - here's a clip of her talking about this on Fallon, and then facetiming Tim Cook to shake his wallet - timestamped to the relevant part.

Billie and Gaga never disappoint when it comes to doing the right thing tbh.

But that doesn't seem to stop the OGHs from trying to discredit her work every single time :coffee2:

Joni, P!nk, Stevie, and Gwen :jonny5: In spite of the horrible circumstances, I hope this concert is done well like Live Aid in the eighties and Live 8 in the 2000s.

It'll be great as a morale booster but they need to send some invoices to billionaires like the evil Resnicks

But even in the US disasters happen all the time.  There were those hurricanes that hit Florida last fall.  The one that hit Puerto Rico in 2018 was exceptionally bad. The winter storms of 2021 were the deadliest disaster of the 2020s so far, and then there were the fires in Maui last year.

People should of course be helping in all of these circumstances, but it's interesting that all these celebrities get involved for the disaster that hit Malibu.
