Is Britney is the biggest "vibes" artist of the century.

Based on Billboard's two recent lists, Ms Spears was #6 on the "Greatest" list but on the list based on actual numbers, she was only #34, one spot below Carrie Underwood.

Whilst others in the top 25 had larger gaps, she was the only artist in the top 10 to have a 20+ place difference

Her success is very overrated. She's only spent 6 weeks at #1 in total on the Hot 100 out of 5 #1's and she hasn't had a top 20 Billboard YE Hot 100 hit since 1999 lmao haha lol. 🤭😛

She's only released 2 songs in the past 8 years and lacks albums with big constant streaming (the difference between her and Rihanna that has Good Girl Gone Bad and Anti constantly charting), of course she would fall in the list :deadbanana4:

Yes, she only had one #1 song during her prime, (no #1s in the early 2000s).

Most of her chart positions are absolutely awful, even for her most known songs. Many didn't even chart.

it's abysmal and sad tbh, i think most of her singles weren't released as CDs (which was main consumption for singles) and radio just refused to play her, even with all the mismanagement (and her fans can elaborate even more) her songs were massive hits, everyone was listening when she dropped, certainly bigger than some of her peers even though they may have had better chart positions for a short amount of time...

Yes tbh. Love smoking a fat one and blasting her debut album. Those 90s beats just hit different.

Britney can be measured in numbers, even if some argue they're low for her career, but her lasting impact has always surpassed them. Her influence impresses me more than her numbers or awards. Same with most other artists, for me personally.

She is super successful overall

but these charts really make her seem like she was some meh act :rip:

However looking at the influence and love she is getting for her music, performances, looks and etc - she really does seem to be That girl, act overall.

(and she isn't even using PR to push herself on publications, or go into other acts' ears)

Also, what is Britney's opinion on Global Warming? LOL jk xoxo. But seriously, Lady GaGa??

These lists heavily favor longevity on the Hot 100 which she wasn't the best of friends with. I'm pretty sure she's in the top 5 when it comes to pure sales

I think that's OP's point. Her presence feels much bigger than her metrics suggest. Idk if "vibes" is the right word though.

No, Beyoncé is

Edit: because to be number ONE then end up at #7 is actually crazier

She's in the same boat as Britney, I'd still put her in 2nd place though.

Who is then? Nobody else in that top ten had a bigger decline when it comes actual facts and data.

#6 - #34.

Ouch.

And as we were repeating told when #1 was announced, it's only facts, numbers and data that matters. Not legacy or impact.

People in here not understanding that she comes from an era where selling albums was considered more important than singles. :psyduck:
