What would your actual reaction be to a bunch of Chinese nationals talking about some American cultural event and one of them abruptly being like "I WOULD LIKE TO ENJOY THIS AMERICAN NEWS, BUT.... I MUST FIRST REITERATE THE EVIL OF THE AMERICAN YANKEE BEFORE PROCEEDING!!!! *spits*".

Would you rather live under an authoritarian regime where your voice holds no value and the ruling party can act without any opposition? 

 

Also, when I think of a functional modern democracy, the archaic and deeply flawed system of the US certainly isn't what comes to mind.
