bielneira Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Unfortunately, the Latin trend comes and goes, so I don't expected global longevity from any of them. 2 2 1
HarleyWin Posted January 3 Posted January 3 1. Reggaeton has become very oversaturated and uninspiring as a genre in general. All his songs are starting to sound the same just like Drake. 2. Benito has been very lowkey lately, especially after the breakup with 🕯. He's not promoting as hard or making headlines like before. 3. Most popularity peaks for musicians in the streaming era have been max 3-4 years. His decline is not surprising to me tbh. Karol G next. 4 1

Mark Rih Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Music got very stale. He kept the trap and the reggaeton and dropped the synthpop/indie influence that made UVST so big 2
BigBangStan Posted January 3 Posted January 3 He already reached his peak with Un Verano Sin Ti, Also his image has been tarnished with the controversies and him dating a Kardashian.

40_L3VE Posted January 3 Posted January 3 He grossed stadium numbers with an arena tour just last year. His core fanbase is still there and supporting. 4
getBusy Posted January 3 Posted January 3 1 hour ago, Spicy Pisces said: the Kardashian curse Edit: no but fr his association to them alienated people and gave him the look of a social climber sellout This definitely played a big prt BUT let's be real, he's been putting out mediocre songs lately. If he returns to Un Verano Sin Ti vibes the internet will eat that **** up.
AvadaKedavra Posted January 3 Posted January 3 (edited) Here in Latin America, dating a Kardashian ruined his reputation so so much. His image and aesthetic were built on "I'm from the people" ("Soy como ustedes"), so there was a huge disconnect when he started dating someone who's very unpopular in Latin circles and seen as disconnected from the commoner. Many people here see them as empty, shallow, and overly privileged. That was the big issue—people started saying Bad Bunny was a sellout. Then there's the cellphone controversy. People here love when their artists stay humble, but his ego seemed to grow too much in recent years. Throwing those cellphones really hurt the deep relationship and love people had for him. Instead of slowing down and letting things cool off, his team kept pushing the narrative that Bad Bunny was the #1 artist in the world, which only made things worse. It was just bad timing and momentum. It was the perfect storm. He was also fighting with the harry styles fans He was very mean-ungrateful to Shakira in the past and we the shakifans. U dont mess with us. We are one of the most vicious fanbase on X. So karma is hittin him back. We been slowly helpin with the cancellation...Like perez hilton with xtina aguilera Unclefloperry better watch out In my country, Colombia—one of the most influential Latin music markets—he was really popular. MASSIVE! lemme tell you... But after he disrespected Karol G with the bichota thing and some other Colombian artists like Balvin, it didn't sit well with people. Now, he's being replaced by artists like Blessd and FEID ( who is slowly turning into a huge star all over latinoamerica) I rarely hear Bad Bunny music now..... In Mexico, Peso Pluma and that style of music have gained major traction in the U.S. and all over LA ....If I'm not mistaken, Mexican Americans (Largest latino demography in the States) seem more in love with that sound now than with Puerto Rican artists. So half of his fanbase is gone.....they replaced him for their own scene. If you look at the world charts, our Latin music explosion from 2018-2024 seems to be losing power, much like the 1998-2004 Latin explosion with Ricky Martin, Shakira,Paulina,Thalia,Enrique and Santana. mxoonlight Posted January 3 Posted January 3 I'm going to be really honest, guys. The year is 2025. Having Drake vs. Bad Bunny discourse is a little concerning. 2

OnlyManInTheWorld Posted January 3 Posted January 3 I don't know what happened to him but I'm glad it did.
