Even though I hate bringing the filth from X here, I'm going to leave this open for now because there's an important discussion to be had about it.  But for the sake of not sending this thread off the rails, please, please refrain from:

 

-Whataboutism/deflection

-Making sweeping statements about entire fanbases 

-Arguments in bad faith

-Personal attacks towards other posters

 

I'd like to hope we can all agree that those comments on X are horrid, disturbing, and deserve no place here, much less in the world at all.

I don't think Twitter was always this bad and I hate that Elon has let it fall into what it has become....there's been times I've reported posts similar to those, and no action was taken.  Stan Twitter has always been extreme but it's gone to unhealthy levels in recent years....pop culture is supposed to be fun.  It's depressing to see how it's been completely tainted in some corners of the internet.  And all of that over a dumb list???  Especially sad since Beyonce and Taylor have always had a lot of respect for each other.

 

On one hand I hate even bringing attention to this stuff because it seems like that's exactly what these people want, but then again....they need to be shamed and dragged for it.  I hope that anyone affected by those posts knows that it's a loud minority, and the majority of fans in real life are not like that.

Stans mobilize for album drops and things like the Billboard video but not to make it known they aren't a safe space for racists who enjoy Taylor Swifts music/use being a Swiftie as a cover for racist baiting.

 

Instead of ignoring it like they're random bad apples,cause clearly from the hashtag that isn't the case and it's a larger issue than you suspected. There's threads on here of Swifties being racist and I've never seen another Swiftie quote them to call them out for it...

Okay, I knew it was going to be bad, but that police brutality edit is extremely psychotic. Like how do you think of that? Why do their minds go straight to inciting racial hatred and calling people animals? I don't understand why they do this also very specifically with black people. Taylor tried to shut it down with inviting Bey to her premiere, but they still won't let it go because they're not just defending their queen, they're using it as an excuse to be abhorrent racists.
