Popular Post glitch Posted November 28 Popular Post Posted November 28 This is the same fanbase who bullied a black cast member from Ginny and Georgia over a line she said in a scripted TV drama. Who is shocked 22 2
lonnie Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Over a damn list Like there is never an excuse for racism, but imagine going to this level over your fave placing #2 on a list that won't be remembered in a few weeks time. I have no words. 8
Shelter Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Yup the Swifties are racist, it's not a new thing. The fact they are doing this over a dumb ranking too. The usual haters staying clear of this thread, wonder why. 9

Popular Post Devin Posted November 28 Popular Post Posted November 28 as a black person u become numb to it. they can openly be racist but if we call it out theres gaslighting & no accountability. 8 14
Popular Post JoJo Posted November 28 Popular Post Posted November 28 it's actually insane how blatantly racist these people are being just because of a meaningless Billboard list. Taylor is my number one artist, but this is why I can never identify as a Swiftie. and **** Elon Musk for making Twitter worse. Fandoms are unbearable now. 14 3

Been numb for years unfortunately. We call it out then it's us being sensitive. Also, generally speaking, if your only way of dragging a musician is to insult their race, gender & creed as your point of contention, not only are you a bigot but you exposed yourself for not being able to attack their actual artistry. It's commonplace at this point to do to Black artists. Then the same people ask why Black people are seemingly "race-loyal" to Black musicians. Your stan mates don't make being a fan of white artists a walk in the park Edited November 28 by Wicked 15 6

DevilsRollTheDice Posted November 28 Posted November 28 (edited) Everyone always says "no accountability" but what does that actually mean in this context? This thread is full of Swifties agreeing that those comments are vile. Pointing out that there are hateful trolls in every fan base and all over X in general isn't disregarding that. Many of these examples have a dozen likes and are clearly rage bait/set up accounts. I'm not saying that problematic behavior never happens in fan bases, it clearly does everywhere in stan culture, but it also isn't reflective of the vast majority of fans of any artist. Accountability would be X moderating posts and banning people problematic accounts which Elon is clearly unwilling to do. Edited November 28 by DevilsRollTheDice 1

This. Over a Billboard ranking? Oh, okay. Add it to the neverending list of nonsense things white people hate us over. Edited November 28 by The7thStranger 3 2
Brikenbur Posted November 28 Posted November 28 (edited) Not Swifties embarrassing themselves and Taylor during the Holiday season. This was not on my Bingo card for 2024. #SWIFTIESAPOLOGIZETOBEYONCÉ Edited November 28 by Brikenbur

I've literally acknowledged there are rotten apples among Swifties just like every other fandom including yours. What more can be done about this? The whole fandom doesn't have to take accountability for the vile actions of some strangers on internet. Hope that clears irt. 2 1 3

Well, the whole fandom expects Billboard to take accountability for the video they just posted for their Taylor recap, though they included Britney's conservatorship, Nicki's beefs, etc. They (and even Taylor) expected that Netflix show to apologize for saying the most mid-joke about her dating style, they cried over Zach Bryan's criticism recently and even tried to deny Billboard's own ranking of their own list; all-in-all they're the closest thing to MAGA in the music industry than any other fanbase. "The music ain't that great…" Edited November 28 by Brikenbur 5

Princess Aurora Posted November 28 Posted November 28 This is sad knowing the fact that Beyoncé and Taylor deeply respect each other. 1

You just saved @My Tears Ricochet... because I was going to. BTW that user has always been a bad seed. The textbook deflection they just gave instead of even attempting to identify the problem and move on verified/confirmed that for me. 5 1
BrokenMachine Posted November 28 Posted November 28 No wonder the Latin American community made a constant meme of comparing Swifties with KKK members a few months ago
KillingYourCareer Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Many Swifties (many stans in general) vicariously live through these worthless achievements that aren't even theirs, so I'm not surprised by those hateful tweets. 11
Jon Snow Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Even if this was just a tiny minority of stans, it is deeply disturbing. I'm so sad we have to live in a world where people even think about saying stuff like this. I'm not surprised though. What I'm surprised about is that people are making excuses for them, and still identifying with them. If your biggest concern in a situation where a person, and a group of people that person belongs to, are degraded in this way, is about defending fandom you belong to and not addressing explicit racism, then there's a lot of stuff to be unpacked. The most privileged ones always act as the biggest victims. And I know that there's a lot of Swifties who are good and loving people and would never say things like this, but you're not supposed to thank them for not being racist. That's the way they should act anyway. 4 2
