omm they're so pissed at this random stat

we're not the pissed ones when yall are trying to pass off The Wedding Planner and The Pink Panther as career milestones but not ASIB. This isn't a random stat it's a bunch of arbitrary qualifiers strung together to shut out a hit single and movie from literally 5 years ago. Y'all can't move on. I know you saw the potential for some ASIB denial in 2024 and got a little high off the excitement as you ran into the thread.

Bey might do it again with Mufasa:gayorkcat2:

Mufasa going #1 is not even a question :suburban:

Unless Moana 2 completely obliterates and pulls unexpectedly huge numbers.

#1 at the box office isn't a big deal for a reason. There's a handful of weeks every year where multiple event films release and it's easy to sneak low earning panned garbage at the top if you time it correctly, away from those. Those films released in January and February respectively. :gaycat5:

We know itsTimeeeeeeeMariaaahhhhsi3737293yrvr_Iw only made this thread to shade Gaga but she's a more acclaimed and successful singer-gone-actress than anyone on this list.

Timing is essential, just like #1 albums (or any type of #1). Where's the shock here? :suburban:

I did not enter this thread to discuss Gaga's 2018 remake of A Star Is Born.

that one (liddo) user is the entire reason for this derailment. we all could have dropped our ":clap3::clap3::clap3:" posts celebrating the talent of Ariana, Beyoncé and Taylor and kindly moved on.

Music doesn't have completely dead months other than the Christmas freeze like movies do. This is why BO is discussed in numbers instead of charting outside of comparing those few event films to each other.

That being said Box Office:

Wicked(TBD - definitely crossing 1b)

ASIB - $437m

The Eras Tour - $262m

-wall-

The Pink Panther - $164m

The Wedding Planner - $94m

The sooner you grasp this isn't a thread about movie grosses, the better :suburban:

Wicked is NOT crossing 1b, $600-650m is the most likely number rn.

The sooner you grasp that ASIB was bigger than half of the movies in that tweet combined and Gaga also had the #1 album and song to back it up(as well as actually acting in hers unlike Taylor), the better. :suburban:
