Funny though..  Her saying she grew up listening to Ariana and Selena; when she looks years older.

I was shocked. I literally thought she was in her late 20s or early 30s.

I mean I get it but.

1. Britney and Christina didn't dissappear off the face of the earth in 2003

2. She grew up in the era of YT so I don't see how she wouldn't have at least checked them out. Also her aesthetic is literally so Britney coded like girl :rip:

3. Selena? Really? I get Ariana and Taylor but Selena? Like I have never understood the hype with this chick, she can't even carry a note :deadbanana2:

All in all she's only 21, I just don't find the age excuse all that relevant. Bruno Mars was born in 1985 but still regularly draws influences from artists like Michael Jackson, Earth Wind & Fire and Kool & The Gang, all who peaked before he was alive. Beyoncé's two biggest female influences are Diana Ross and Tina Turner, both of whom also peaked before she was born, yet somehow growing up in the 80s and 90s they were still able to learn and be influenced.

Whatever.

This forum's obsession with whacking Selena out of the blue will never make sense to me, considering all she currently does is mind her own business and she never was even half as problematic as her peers... You'd think a Bruno stan would at least have some decorum, considering he used the instrumental of one of her unreleased songs for a Locked Out Of Heaven remix  :deadbanana4:

wait...her speaking voice is normal, why does she sing like that?

She needs to go see JYPapi for vocal training.

Selena literally lied about her writing credits on the song Rare then made it a beauty brand that helped her become a billionaire stop it! She can't sing or perform and now act with all of the work that she's randomly started to get done and denies. Bruno is an actual artist. Don't act like Selena is some kind of a victim. Also let's not forget how she handled the Free Palestine and BLM movement. Shes not that innocent as ya make her out to be

That's because they're used to the fox eye, cats eye, ponytail, filler, ozempic look that's such a "serve, yass kween" coded for them

"She lied about her writing credits on Rare!" So did the 99% of pop singers, who cares? You're acting as if she ripped it straight from Madison Love's hands, if Beer or Charli released it instead they would've bought a credit for it as well. "She can't sing or perform" Arguable, she had the most stage presence out of her disney peers during 2013-2017, she also improved vocally a lot during that time, she'll never be a vocalist, trust, we know it, but she is skilled enough to be called a singer, despite her obvious limitations, she is a great studio artist because her tone is lovely and lends itself quite well to different textures.

Where did I claim Selena is a victim? I never thought of her as one, I just think it's very curious how she is the only person in here that gets attacked for certain things that everyone seems to be fine with. Also about the BLM and the Free Palestine movement thing... Another example of people nitpicking certain things to attack her, because she signed the Cease Fire letter before even posting that silly story, had been vocal about Gaza's situation since 2014 and donated money for Palestine; and for BLM she literally used her Instagram as a platform to amplify black voices, being exclusively used for that for a whole month, but of course you'd rather focus on a 2016 tweet that was worded wrongfully instead. :biblionana:

It's not a bad thing. She's still hot and very sexy. Her looking older than her actual age doesn't affect her appearance. I just found it hilarious that she says she "grew up" listening to them when she looks their age/older. It's not that serious.

Lol you joined this website in 2009, when Tate and I were like in pre school. Why don't you show us how you look, Sharamee6 :flower:

I look very good for my age. Everyone thinks I look waaaay younger so I am more than just fine when it comes to that, so thank you. That being said, me saying Tate looks older than her age, doesn't mean she looks bad. She looks amazing and sexy regardless of her looking older than her actual age.

Also, "2009"er, go post a video on TikTok, and shut up.

This is why I kind of feel bad for gen z. Their icons are so lame. Talking about Selena Gomez and Ariana VMA performances :rip:

Hmm, not impressed by Tate's erasure of Gaga. She would have been five/ six when "Just Dance" blew up. For some reason Tate airbrushes that out.

Any Katy hit clears just dance in terms of impact and culture.

To be fair, she just cites the pop moments she remembered living as a teenager but these are not the ones that are shaping up her image or her sound. It's the iconic ones that came out decades before the ones that are inspiring her looks and everything else. We should give her credit for that. :cm:

the lack of taste...

Gaga, Rihanna, Katy, and even Beyoncé dominated the 10's and she decide to mention a Selena Gomez album cover moment... :biblio:

I'm SHOCKED she's only 21. I don't know why but I assumed she was in her late 20s

Rihanna hasn't released a single album since she was 12, or Katy had a hit.

Since when did you have to be alive during an artist's peak to be inspired by them?

the amount of hags bothered just because she cited selena gomez as one of her inspiration, that girl tate is a selenator and why yall act like selena havent had kinda an impact in theh industry.

a lot of 00s future artists will take inspo on selena, ariana, miley, taylor, justin, etc just because we were KIDS and PUBERTS during their peak. and 10s will do it with billie, olivia, sabrina, chappell and thats the way it goes.

grow up, and dont live anymore in the nostalgic bunch of gays, britney christina and those girls although they have IMPACT, no one listen to them anymore, at least not my generation and im just 20.

If Tate grew up watching Ariana, Selena, Demi etc and the generation before her grew up with Britney and Xtina.. then who tf were Gaga, Katy and Jessie J mothering?

Posted

The revival selena album was inspired by Stripped. This coming from Selena herself. The album cover herself. She told Ryan Seacrest this.

She's literally talking about moments she remembers when she was GROWING UP. She wasn't even alive in 1999 or 2000. God you guys are so dense.
