Imagine missing out on Britney's and Xtina's primes and instead growing up with Selena and Taylor performances

That's so crazy that these people don't know about pop culture before the year they were born. :rip:

I was 1 when Janet released Together Again but I still remember it cuz it was played all the time on MTV. And I grew up with all sorts of older stuff too so it's still engrained in my brain.

Where did she say she doesn't know about it? :rip:

Tate literally went to the VMA's this year wearing a dress inspired by a dress Britney wore three years before she was born.

I feel the same way, I grew up with Ariana, Miley, Selena, Demi, Taylor, Bieber and the Jonas Brothers. I had no siblings nor other teenagers older than me showing me the other MPGs.

I never gained interest in others when I tried to listen to their discographies and I never minded it because I simply listen to what I enjoy.

Well, this is quite sad because it shows your lack of curiosity or interest in what the world has been. Because, you know, the world was here before you.

Hopefully, this doesn't translate in several aspects of your life, like a lack of interest in history, family dynamics, and politics.

It wasn't shade y'all. She literally just told the interviewer that she didn't grow up to the likes of Britney and Christina since she was literally a baby at their peak. Y'all something else.

I'm not saying she doesn't know anything about it but it was obviously implied when she says she was age zero when it happened and then went on to list the stuff she does remember.

My point was that it's interesting that people now don't have the TV to replay stuff from older eras. Which is how most of us here grew up being exposed to a lot of music from various decades.

Britney and Xtina kept performing and having hits after 2003, Ms. McRae, you just chose to follow the lesser stars.

Sabrina was 0 when Brit and Xtina debuted, yet she is giving mad love to both of them because this is not about growing up with someone but about the implications and inspiration someone does for you, way before you. Britney and Xtina were 4 and 6 when Like a Virgin and Control were released, and you don't see any interview of them "explaining" they were a certain age when those records were released.

That Tate Rae girl is heavily influenced by Britney, and probably to a lesser degree by Xtina. While I don't see the shade, I see the typical smugness from GenZ, where they are condescending about how they understand the world better than everyone else who was here before.

She said nothing wrong at all, and yall getting mad are weird, coming from a millenial.

That said, she truly grew up during some tragic years if these are her highlights :rip:

nothing about this gives shade to me she literally was not born/sentient during the peaks of those women's careers :rip: she's clearly taken some inspiration from them but she was not there in the moment to witness it

It's not her fault but the moments she cited were HORRIBLE :skull:

It's shocking how insipid everything she mentions is compared to the 00s

I experienced both decades and the 2010s are really uneventful when you think about all this
