Da Vinci Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Britney stans bragging about her fame feels strange considering that it literally ruined her life 5 1 1
glacier76 Posted October 8 Posted October 8 I would add Harry Styles and BTS to this list. My parents may have never heard a BTS song but they have heard of the name BTS.
king_queen Posted October 8 Posted October 8 1999-2007 Britney >>>>> But y'all have got to let her GOOOOOOOO
Xtripped Posted October 8 Posted October 8 I swear Britney fans live in another dimension. Amy Winehouse, Gaga, Bieber, Adele and Taylor are there. 1 1
Last Boy on Earth Posted October 8 Posted October 8 (edited) I love how the years pass by and this fanbase remains consistent with the craziness and delusion Edited October 8 by Last Boy on Earth 8

Infinity War/Endgame was the biggest film. The Eras Tour is the biggest tour of all time by any metric. Barbenheimer was a year ago. There have been media events that completely take over the zeitgeist in the past 5 years. Britney is iconic but there have been bigger names since and that's okay, it doesn't make Britney any less successful or beloved. "there have been bigger names" there's POSSIBLY been one and it's Taylor this site has has honestly gone to proper **** Edited October 8 by kataraqueen

I like Britney far more than any of those artists and chartmasters isn't perfect but some of them are way ahead of her. Britney was always a much bigger celebrity than her actual singles/albums moved after oidia. It still puts Britney above other legends like Adele Ariana Gaga Beyonce. No hate just facts. Britney is a living legend and none of this takes away from that. Edited October 8 by Sheep
Capris Groove Posted October 8 Posted October 8 No, but I would make an argument that she was the last superstar who people emulated. In the sense that girls wanted wanted be like her, people had Britney memorabilia, that kind of thing.
MistressKay Posted October 8 Posted October 8 (edited) Lady Gaga had the world on LOCK with her two first eras. And Taylor literally is obliterating right now with her cult. So no. Edited October 8 by MistressKay
1989 Posted October 8 Posted October 8 ATRL's dedication to living in a late 00's/early 10's bubble has to be commended, you have to admit. OT: Not at all. Taylor is quite literally the biggest artist of the last 25 years, and has long since checked all of the boxes of 'criteria' (and then some) listed in the OP. She's been bigger than Britney was at any point for most of her career. And it's not just Taylor—there's also Adele, a literal phenomenon whose peak was not only an insane cultural reset, but also bigger than Britney's. Also, to a lesser extent there's Gaga, whose peak at least matched Britney's. So no, Britney was not the last cultural zeitgeist mega-superstar. 2

Even before that... 2001 - Latin explosion - Jlo, Ricky, Shakira 2003 - Pop rock era - Avril, Kelly Clarkson, Pink 2005 - Urban/art pop - BEP, Fergie, Nelly, Gwen All those eras were more popular than bubblegum pop during those years.

Joesuxx Posted October 8 Posted October 8 I feel like Taylor is the only one who truly had the huge impact. Adele had big moments but they were musician moments not pop culture moments if that makes sense

Migs Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Not the last one, but surely one of the most popular and remembered alongside Madonna, Gaga and Taylor. 1
Erreur2 La Nature Posted October 8 Posted October 8 She is not the last one though ? What's the point of this thread ? Getting her dragged for nothing ? 1 1
