Just a Gay on ATRL Posted October 6 Posted October 6 feels like the same songs have been floating around here since the springtime and we're into fall now. And for the songs that are a bit more exciting and fresh faced in the top 10 (Birds of Feather, Die With a Smile, Taste & Good Luck Babe), they seem to be hitting walls and unable to pass certain other songs, whether due to radio or other things. What's going on? Does she need a facelift?
Ger Posted October 6 Posted October 6 BT back to Top 10, yeah that's the current state of the mainstream landscape.

Hope Sabrina's team have a plan for the vinyl week which is very far away still (11 December) maybe they will drop the remixes EP and discount them all on iTunes + a planned performance while this time they push is straight to #1 on pop slowly. Seeing that she's back at the top on Spotify without only singing it at the VMA's this is giving the longevity of the two previous singles. Maybe a booked performance a week before would be the best and smart move.
fridayteenage Posted October 6 Posted October 6 short N sweet would be the 5th streaming-era female album with 50+ weeks on the Hot 100 top 10. following 1989, nostalgia, sos, and sour. 1
Gorjesspazze9 Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Suprised that Bar song is still on top Let it go America. 1 1 1 1
Bamboo Posted October 6 Posted October 6 It's radios fault. Radio has been particularly stagnant the last few months. I think DWAS will eventually creep up to #2 but Tipsy will be #1 until Mariah says otherwise 1

Erreur2 La Nature Posted October 6 Posted October 6 I love seeing Espresso still dominating after so many months. Truly deserved for such a gorgeous song ! 5
Bethenny Frankel Posted October 6 Posted October 6 We need to send I'm His, He's Mine to replace her at the top 1 1

makeawish Posted October 6 Posted October 6 it's possibly more extreme than it's been at other times (tho idk really) but my feeling is that it's the inevitable result of a streaming chart that's ongoing rather than one where people bought their cd single or 7" vinyl just once and that was it. in the uk we have ACR to counteract the ongoing effect (to basically make the chart look more like a sales chart). That has its drawbacks and people moan about it (and tbh there are times when it makes little difference) but i'd rather have it than not because it keeps things moving 1

wastedpotential Posted October 6 Posted October 6 The only songs I'm still using here are the Sabrina singles and DWAS, the rest of these (especially ******* Lose Control and Beautiful Things) can go
blown away Posted October 6 Posted October 6 The chart desperately needs a breath of fresh air. (Pop) Radio doesn't help at all in this, the fact that those stale old songs are again increasing in spins is to blame. I mean, at least try to invest a little more in new songs instead of going to the same old. Also, try some variety instead of playing a song 20 times a day...
