All the essays when Gaga will continue to score hit songs and albums, tour stadiums, act in more films despite JFAD/Harlequin bombing while Katy will forever remain a morally depraved, artistically bankrupt, laughing stock of the music industry.

It's absurd. Trying to compare Katy's career ending flop (three strikes, you're out) to Gaga, who even in a panned movie managed to be praised? That's talent but obviously not everyone can relate.

The Hive thought that Bey was destined for her first AOTY win just for the whole era to deflate within mere weeks of being out and completely out of ppl's mouth's once Billie, Taylor, and Sabrina released. Not to mention the current controversy her name is being thrown around in.

the lies :rip:having one of the most successful and acclaimed albums and songs of the year isn't a humbling and not a single hive seriously expects beyoncé to win aoty for anything

OT : it's between the cats and the monsters, although they've been playing "who's the lesser flop?" for like a decade, you'd think they'd be used to it by now :deadbanana4:

Let's not pretend that Gaga's $200M movie is somehow less significant than Katy's album underperforming. A $200M budget for a movie is a massive investment with high expectations, and the fact that it bombed DESPITE all the hype from superstar legend Gaga being the leading role? That's a colossal failure boo, and trying to excuse Gaga from the fallout because "she's not responsible" is such a weak argument you LEARNED in the Liddo school of excuses.

The good sis signed on, promoted it, and is the MAIN part of the project, so when the movie tanks, she's part of that failure. Comparing a billion dollar franchise movie to flopass 143 is laughable. Katy's album might have been a disastrous flop, but it didn't come with a multi-million-dollar budget. So If we're talking about flops, let's be clear and repeat after me:

A high-profile movie with that kind of budget crumbling is far worse than an artist's 6th album getting panned reviews.

And while we're here, Katy's album didn't have the benefit of a massive Hollywood machine behind it, had horrendous A&R, several missteps, and still Gaga's movie and Harlequin companion album were able to underperform harder. So let's not act like one low-scoring album is somehow more embarrassing than a box office disaster.

I don't like to say this often but you are genuinely an idiot

Katy Cats were disappointed but not surprised. We predicted Woman's World would flop once Dr. Luke news came about. It wasn't a shock because we didnt set unrealistic expectations or standards on her.

Gurl, the blatant revisionism :rip:

Kats swore that this was Katheryn's comeback era. We were told "no one cares about Dr. Luke except chronically online gays and Kesha stans!!!" and look how that turned out for her. It was a career ending bomb (which is very telling, considering it followed Witness and Smile) and deservedly so.

Only on ATRL will you find people calling someone a flop while they currently have #1 Global song for 6 weeks, and can easily tour stadiums WW.

It was a massive bomb we acknowledge this. Sure we had bigger expectations pre-Luke news but after finding out he produced every song we also came to our senses that it would be hugely panned. It wasn't a shock.

Definetly the Monsters. Katy has preceding flops and people were just expecting her to smash on pure will. She hasn't been a pop music force since like 2014. The monsters are now disassociating her with JFAD and placing blame on the director now that it's breaking the wrong kind of records. I have never seen a project fumble its hype so rapidly.

no matter how hard Katy stans and OGH try to spin it, the answer will ALWAYS be Katheryn's Cats.

even in this colossal bomb and misfire of a movie, Gaga is still getting praised left and right, identified as the only good thing in it and leaving people wanting more. something that cannot be said about the reaction to Katheryn's career ending album.

people are rightfully blaming those two men for this mess and Gaga is unscathed so far

It's just funny how despite Katy flopping with Witness and Smile, the there was still clearly a huge fear she'd come back swinging which is why people have broken their heels running into this thread to proclaim "she's over."

When in reality, they know anything could happen and in a few years time with the right sound and song she could land a huge hit. The fact so many are so happy about her flop only underlines just how readily she could have got a smash. Y'all are so afraid of more Katy dominance. :jonny:

Aside from Selenators, Monsters have been the only ones on here taking her seriously for the Oscars. :rip:

And there's a difference between "expecting" a nomination (literally no Monsters does after she missed for Gucci) and seeing the potential for an awards run assuming the role and performance is there. And despite the performance widely praised, the role wasn't there with her relegation being a huge criticism of the sequel (and the movie is a mess). :cm:

Very that. Besides DWAS has done quite well on the charts so I think she will be fine. If LG7 is a hot mess then I'll change my mind.

OT: Katy.

Leave Bruno out of this discussion.

So why are you putting Todd Phillips in the discussion then?

Who is Todd Phillips shouldn't you be spinning the Monsters Wheel of excuses again? Try another one I don't understand and I don't know her.

So why are you discussing something you don't understand then?

Excuse for what exactly? The movie is flopping, but her career is still going very strong. Not sure what you're referring to here.

The Little Jokers obvi. Who else were trashing Ms. Robbie's portrayal of Harley and calling her box Office poison but swear Gaga was gonna make the sequel a box office smash? Who do you think was antagonizing the Hive over their fave soundtrack's numbers? Who else but the LJs, were hyping the release of this film on every platform?

The way karma, kicked them down and left them gagging on the floor by rewarding them with that abysmal RT score, tragique Cinemascore and devastating box office numbers. A flop in all metrics. If only they were nicer, maybe fate would have gave them an average C and audience would have remained seated.

Poor Little Jokers.

Update: Not Ms. @RussianRoulette being right about them spamming the downvote button. Bless their little hearts.

Monsters. Bruno made them feel so cocky and confident and then the reality hit them yet again.

Kats were used their fave flopping (and being clowned) so they weren't as loud as liddos were one month ago.

But I'm quite shocked at how quiet they have been this past week. They are so many on this site and are usually so vocal but I guess the only thing left for them to do is spam the downvote button.:dies:

the way i just screamed, it's giving FATALITY :jonnycat:

The Navy having to watch the Avon Lady spend yet another year disrespecting them with no album

The Kats, maybe. Monsters may be hiding but they were certainly not humbled.

To a lesser extent I'd say the Olivers or whatever they're called since they would always make fun of Sabrina for being a flop and they dragged Billie hard for HTE

Definitely NOT Gaga fans. The moment they get some crumbs thrown their way, a collab with a big artist, a movie role in a successful franchise etc, they get brave and start talking ****, even if the artist they're trying to **** with is in a whole different league (say, Taylor). Once they end up with an egg on their face, they retrieve back to the same old topics ("Madonna is a bad actress", "Katy is a flop", "Bey has bad streaming numbers", you know, their own oldies but goldies), get a glimmer of hope and the cycle repeats. They will never learn haha.

The 00s MPGs are being humbled this year when you really think about it. :deadbanana2:

Tay, Bey, Katy, and now Gaga. Rihanna… well.

NOT the KatyCats pretending the unprecedented disaster of 143, the second lowest reviewed female album of ALL TIME was expected and no big deal when they expected Katy to get back to her early 10s glory days because she had black hair and Luke (who they were asking for) back. Instead she got relentlessly humiliated, mocked and cancelled to the point where she had to come out, slam the "haters" and pretend she was unbothered when we all know she was fuming her last chance at a comeback was laughed off the face of the earth because of how unbelievably bad the music and visuals were. I have honestly never seen a major pop album flop that bad critically or commercially and I challenge anyone to tell me otherwise.

Meanwhile Gaga has a huge hit song, an acclaimed jazz album (double 143 mc score, lmao) another acclaimed role and a highly anticipated album that will at the very least not be accused of being so bad it's AI and KatyCats have the nerve to call her a loser? Lmao you can't make this **** up. I know the Cats are desperate to deflect from the second worst reviewed female album of all time but we were all still here 2 weeks ago.
