Side projects tend to sell less than actual studio albums, just look at the transition from The Gift to Renaissance.

HOWEVER, I remember vividly monsters getting cocky with that ASIB soundtrack and comparing its success to other pop girls' soundtracks so it's really just a little reminder that it was all a fluke, and she doesn't hold the power they think to smash out of the gate. Maybe, and just maybe, this project could have a revival when Joker comes out.

Joke of the day:

A friend (GaGa fan) was telling me how this record is just a side project, not meant for the fans.. You know the same ol' excuses; and that if any other big artist had released it then it would have flopped too. So I asked.. If Taylor releases this.. Will it also debut with 26K only and peak in the top 20? *silence in the room*

Yeah.

I knew this wasnt doing Big numbers because of being just jazz covers but I confess I was expecting at least 80k ish fanbase driven sales.

I take the L.

No, because Taylor would release 5382 versions.

That's not really a fair comparison. Taylor is MUCH bigger than Gaga. For this point in Gaga's career, and for someone of her level if fame, it's a fine debut for a side project.

If she did that it would be because there would be people buying them. Gaga is very welcome to release a second version if she wants to.

Noah's longevity is crazy considering he hasn't had any more hit singles in months. :deadbanana2:

Still a dumb comparison. The Gift was a fully original album with a ton of high-profile collabs and big producers. It even had a rollout campaign with multiple singles. This is a collection of old showtunes and jazz covers.
