Danai G Posted October 21 Posted October 21 I'mma be honest: out of the three singles, is Fantasy my most favourite? No. Did I enjoy it though? Yes. It's definitely the safest option out of AOMD and Midnight Cowboy and although I think they could have gone for something else, it's still a bop. It's pop but it's not generic and you can still tell it's Jade. The music video is admittedly kinda underwhelming for the most part but hey, that's fine. I am super excited for the album. 1

tbhmatt Posted October 21 Posted October 21 I fear that some of you need to listen twice, thrice and maybe a fourth time to understand the excellence of this track 7 1
smartalek22 Posted October 21 Posted October 21 I don't think it'll be a hit, but it's one of those songs that is so good and gays will wonder why it never got the success it deserves, just my thoughts 4
Chemist Posted October 21 Posted October 21 This song is absolutely crazy. She is definitely going for the arts rather than the charts, so fans should stop worrying about commercial success. These singles truly feel like the beginning of a fka twigs/charli xcx/carly rae type of artist 5
every1blinks Posted October 21 Posted October 21 It's not my favorite of the three, but it's not bad by any stretch of the imagination. I think she'll probably thrive in a Carly Rae Jepsen way where she has a dedicated cult following and is generally championed by critics

If someone like Sabrina had released this it would've been labeled pretty groundbreaking, image-changing, etc. But that's because a lot of humans suffer from the mental illness named ageism and its heightened when it comes to the way they think about women in pop music. And Jade isn't going for overt sexuality with her image as of yet which unfortunately makes it even harder to be noticed. Sabrina is a young, conventionally pretty, blonde, American(?) girl which unfortunately always works in the favor of those types in the industry. The world is obsessed with that image, look at Taylor. 3

BambiStar Posted October 21 Posted October 21 (edited) Obviously you want the new single to do well but it's not even so much about the charts. It's more like why is this song doing way worse on streaming than AOMD with way better playlisting bizarre. But this happened with Leigh-Anne and Perrie too... first single a cute hit and then the support just vanished. Wonder why? Edited October 21 by BambiStar
djcalpal Posted October 21 Posted October 21 The way I'm streaming this 20 times a day because I think that I alone am going to reverse the floppery. 1 4
State of Grace. Posted October 21 Posted October 21 LOVED this on first listen, but it's such a grower. I'm soooo obsessed. Only wish the MV was better. Announce an album already sis! I hope it doesn't end up dropping in....2026. Just put out a good album and it will end up finding its own niche. If a song is meant to be a smash, it will take off on TikTok or something. 3

I truly enjoyed at least one of each girls' releases but they work a lot better as a group. They don't have any controversies around them or huge connections in the industry, the one who had both for a bit was Jesy during Boyz and even though the single wasn't a smash, still is the highest peaking single out of them bc of that. I mean, their potential as solo stars is there, but the GP simply won't care unless a reunion comes. Hopefully i'll be proven wrong though, but... 1 1

Wonder why? because the song is very unconventional and doesn't sound like a hit at ALL, it's very simple. Sabrina would never release a song like this because the girl is focused on commercial success (which is also fine)
KeirGrey Posted October 22 Posted October 22 Yeah you guys need to stop worrying about if it it'll be a hit it's 2024 better to release good music and get a core fanbase than chase hits 8 1
abra Posted October 22 Posted October 22 I can't with the drama or even comparing AOMD's success with DSL/FAU when the former was certified in 2 months and the other two have been out for 6 months/a year and haven't yet. Regardless of flopping the second single or not, Jade should announce the album and tour as I'm sure that'll build her a decent fanbase to tour festivals etc. I even think Angel's success was a surprise to her. Just hope she announces the album soon to tie people in to the campaign.
shark_heather Posted October 22 Posted October 22 Its so unfortunate that the first 2 minutes of the video clip are so boring and then she slays so hard as Carrie
tbhmatt Posted October 22 Posted October 22 She's still going with this which makes me wonder if the concept is for something else? i thought it was MV concept related, but obviously not
