She still has hits so she can always go back to that. Look at Christina. Shes literally celebrating the 25th anniversary of her first album this week. :dies:

Katy's basically in auntie mode right now. She doesn't have an ear/eye for what's cool anymore, and will keep flopping as long as she keeps going back to the same failed formula.

My fav, Bey, actually is prone to bouts of auntieism (ex. her weird obsession with Church Girl), but she's constantly getting input and taking contributions from various collaborators in a way that makes sure the overall projects stay fresh.

She needs to stop chasing the hit that won't come and focus on making an album that actually has some substance (and isn't the ludicrous career suicide of making a dated album produced by a very known alleged rapist by the pop stans - the people she's appealing to) :michael:

All of this

Her career as a mainstream popstar is done but I could see her having another minor hit or two if she returned to her first album sound or developed her sound a little (and if the music was actually good)

Wow, such a long post in so little time. Sry, you wrote that, not gonna read it. Toodles.

I guess not reading is easier than admitting that you're okay with knowing the woman you're defending is okay with men like Lukasz Gottwald raping and assaulting multiple women.

This is also a pretty good example. Beyonces days as a "pop star" have been done for a long time, but she still has success with each era because she's constantly evolving and the music is always good.

I do believe Beyonce could have had a Katy like trajectory had she not taken the direction she did in 2013 & released another IASF

She really cursed herself with "Never Really Over", I fear.  :deadbanana4:

Also @Relampago. why does the thunderbolts in your Signature look suspiciously like a separated Schutzstaffel.

Do not try to deflect from your fave's dead career topic by insinuating that I, a POC, am using white supremacist imagery in my signature that I have not changed since 2014 (hence why Iggy Azalea is listed as a fave).

A quick Google Translate search would tell you my username is "Lightning" in Spanish and that is what they are— lightning bolts. Super low and off topic to even bring that up in a thread like this honestly.

Anyone can have a proper comeback but Katy doesn't seem the type to make the right choices (since 2017) so she'll need to count with her luck

:suburban:

Still, she can always tour and make money with her past hits so at worse she'll just be a legacy act.

she's been completely over for a long time. the idea that this could've been her commercial comeback was fully insane even before woman's world dropped.

Why participate in a discussion in the first place if you don't intend to read what people respond to you with and make an effort to let them know, appearing unintelligent and lazy? I recommend signing up for TruthSocial.

Yes. She hasn't had a platinum album since 2013's Prism. She's been over mostly from her own incompetence and being extremely out of touch with modern pop music.

The fact that this question has been asked since 2017 and things just keep getting worse just says it all. Katy is OVER and she just tarnished what was left of her legacy. She'll always be known as a relic of the early 10s with a massive fall from grace. Which is more than fair considering her despicable decision to run back to Puke.
