Here's a list of all the unreleased songs that got mentioned somewhere or got leaked + when and where they got leaked, which era they are from and who produced them. Interesting read.

Everytime I see her label blocked her from doing something cool (like King of my Castle) I get so frustrated.

She has so many great songs from the In The Zone era to choose from why did she choose Brave New Girl? I'd rather listen to Manjobi

Or her version of Hey Ma

I must be the only one who stans Brave New Girl :rip:

These unfinished songs have a certain charm to them and I wish they never get officially released cause polishing them up would take away from the magic. I'm always fascinated when leaks happen bc we get a glimpse into what was Britney's vision before label interference.

I forgot about that!

Fixed OP with the "tracklist" from the video and put a helpful timestamp next to each track. I could be wrong with what mix is which tho.

It just feels so childish compared to songs like Everytime or Don't Hang Up

I love Brave New Girl too. If Britney had total control over the tracklist I love every decision she made.

Because I Like It and obviously Instant Deja Vu are bops and half, but I can see why they (or whole these sessions) were ultimately scrapped. They just aren't what In the Zone became in the end. They are very poppy, almost outdated, even for 2003/04. They simply don't represent the maturity that was needed (and achieved) by Britney during that era.

Those were probably early sessions right after 'Britney' was released.

I love Instant Deja Vu, it deserved a spot on the album! BILI and IARA are great but very New Radicals. If I'm not mistaken, these mixes date to February 2003, so these tracks are posterior to songs like Everytime and Touch Of My Hand.

Btw, Crazy Girls is so interesting. LOVE it. I'd have guessed it was a Blackout outtake. And YCSWYCS is beautiful, gives me Madonna vibes.

It's so ******* iconic :dies: I'm shook at the fact she actually recorded it in the studio and it belonged to this song wtf.

She kinda obsessed with that rap, huh? Did it at Punk'd, recorded it with Ryan Leslie and now with Rick Nowels/Gregg Alexander? I'm now remembering she apparently performed it a couple of times at the Oops tour. Lmao

I could be completely making this up but I ***think*** it was supposed to be used in Sex & the City or sth like that.

Sex & The City were why the guy who played her love interest and why Kim Cattrall played Lucy's mom in Crossroads. Brave New Girl was for the movie based on Lynn Spears' novel

How has Take the Bait or a clean version of her vocals on Telephone not leaked?

Why this assumption that ITZ is not Britney's vision? Are we forgetting she stood her foot against the label to put out MATM and Toxic? And the amount of times she's praised album tracks like BOM, Early Mornin', TOMH, The Hook Up...?

Don't get me wrong. I just remembered Britney wasn't very pleased with Outrageous so I don't know if she got her way in every decision made at that time. It's not uncommon for artists to have to add songs on their albums that they didn't really want there.

I like the songs but none of them fits In the zone at all. It sounds like there were made before Toxic, Breathe on me, Touch of my hand and Early morning comes in bc the sounds is not the same.

I could be wrong but I remember she saying in a interview something like she takes more time with this album bc she was not happy first direction of the album. Something like she wants more adult sound.

I was speaking in the general sense. The more left field songs that have leaked over the years + the bizarre bonus tracks that usually stomp on half of the official album is what I have associated with "Britney's vision".

Outrageous is like the one label requirement (maybe IGTBB too :-x). But it's clear that the rest/most of the album is Britney's vision and most likely her favorite work

Right, it's obvious many songs that leaked didn't go well with Britney "the brand". It's a shame because they have an edge that not many people know Britney has and if released, they would be cult classics with retrospective acclaim despite flopping.

It's not like she don't like Outrageous, it was more she didn't want the song to be the lead single as the label wanted.

I think I read somewhere that the head of Jive at the time was obsessed with that song so I wouldn't be surprised if he pushed the song heavily to the point of it being an album track when it was never supposed to. But I love the song and I would've loved the music video too tbh.

Well, that's on you tbh. Britney has always prioritized the dance hits. She's a performer and that's what she aimed to with the music, which doesn't make it any lesser or devoid of her vision and intention. She also said during that time that she didn't like to put too much of her private life out there and in the music. It's no wonder such tracks don't make it in the albums at the end.
