rapperjennie Posted October 3 Posted October 3 the label is definitely going to 'delay' the album...this is not going to do well 1
tbhmatt Posted October 3 Posted October 3 Well, I definitely think this is a big step in the right direction for her. I like the faint funky dance vibes in the chorus coupled with the pop rock synths throughout the verses. It's a nice blend of the genres that suit her voice the most. I think the chorus is pretty catchy and it's a fun song. It's very uplifting. I agree the song structure is an absolute mess and the song doesn't switch up enough to justify the length. It isn't sonically interesting enough to be dragging on for so long, it's actually quite repetitive. That being said, I personally think the hook is catchy enough to get a few more listens from me before I inevitably get bored of it. Lyrically, she REEEEEEEEALLY needs to do something different. This is three songs in a row now that feel so incredibly generic, all about the same/similar concepts. I didn't hate it at all, I actually thought it was a decent effort, but I just can't get too excited about her music sadly because she isn't offering anything exciting or interesting and it's clearly not coming from an authentic place. She just has absolutely no artistic vision or creative flair and these releases are sadly exposing her for it. I wish her luck with this release and hope she gets some success with it. I feel bad for saying it because I adore her and her talents and I understand the poor reception to her music has affected her anxiety but I can't tell a lie. I would love for her to come out swinging and force me to eat my words but it hasn't happened yet. 3
tbhmatt Posted October 3 Posted October 3 I should say that it's absolutely *fine* for her to not have the same artistic and creative flair that other artists have, as not everyone can be that type of artist and it doesn't negate her strengths and talents which is singing and emoting through her voice. But… if you aren't bringing that level of creativity to the table, you need to demonstrate a little bit more quality control and display a certain level of taste when releasing songs. A step in the right direction for her, at least. I hope she can find a niche with this and build something by honing in on this sound.
Garbaj Posted October 4 Posted October 4 im sorry, might be her worst song choice. i loved tears and FAU; but this is just... eh. 1
abra Posted October 4 Posted October 4 I'm a bit bothered by how impersonal her songs sound this is the third in a row about a heartbreak… Does she have nothing to share in her solo career after so many years in the industry? She hasn't even had a heartbreak for the last 8 years or so… 4
butterflymimi Posted October 4 Posted October 4 i've just listened to it twice and i'm a bit torn on this one… i expected to dislike it based on the snippet and i actually don't mind it. the chorus is actually really catchy and i don't mind a weird structure like this but it just feels so bland. i feel like a different production choice and a few changes on the verses could have really improved this. mostly i'm just bored of the themes of the music they've chosen to release so far, like girlllllll you're better than this. FAU was truly a cute debut but we don't need every song on your album to be a breakup anthem. overall though, it's a small step in the right direction coming off of tears 1
J-esper Posted October 4 Posted October 4 The chorus feels like it is the perfect pre-chorus to built to something bigger. It is a 'fine' song but none of the singles feel like we are properly being introduced to Perrie. Ofcourse songwriters can grasp to any moment in life but why are we serviced all these break up songs in a row. She seems happy about her life and family in interviews. Why is she marketed this way?
CallumDavies Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Perrie is a very talented vocalist but she has the creative instincts of a rock. Most of the members of LM are struggling without the structure the group provided. Minus Jade who clearly has a strong perspective. 3 1 1
livelikemusic Posted October 4 Posted October 4 I'm really loving this as the album's third single. Cannot wait for the video in 7.5 hours!! 1
Goofy Posted October 4 Posted October 4 damn, we really ain't getting that album anytime soon if she keeps on releasing such bland uninspired radio tunes.
Katy.Kat.23 Posted October 4 Posted October 4 She was the one I had the most hype for out of LM but her choices....
shark_heather Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Pffff im sorry but this is absolutely terrible, i cannot find anything good to say 😔 😢 Just a 6 second hook with a messy production that its been repeated 30 times and some other extra things not related at all threw around it to fill out the time
shark_heather Posted October 4 Posted October 4 But where is the ballad ? I thought it will be included on the single 1

WERKER Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Just about to listen, I am very excited despite the reaction on here
Xpress2019 Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Perrie girl…just stop. Stop all this right now. Her level of talent shouldn't be attached to all the songs she's released. Some people just can't be solo artists. I think Perrie might be one of them. That or her team are choosing all the wrong songs. 1
WERKER Posted October 4 Posted October 4 There are 8 versions on iTunes. I hope all of you beautiful girlies from the UK buy the single to support even if you do not like it. Thank you
WERKER Posted October 4 Posted October 4 I really don't understand when you guys are saying this song is generic / radio fodder. It doesn't sound like anything playing on the radio, the structure is so disjointed and unique - the structure reminds me so much of Biology by Girls Aloud (not the music but the structure / breakdown of the song) This to me sounds like a Perrie song, nothing else. I love it. The most instant of the 3 songs for me. 2

Rihinvention Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Wow…another miss. I came in here expecting to be alone in my disappointment, but the fact that everyone else is underwhelmed only validates my thoughts. Her whiteness is really showing. Everything she's put out has just been so…Caucasian.
Gelato Posted October 4 Posted October 4 it kind of sucks. life sentence in the (solo) khia asylum i fear
