Saint James Posted October 3 Posted October 3 i think she knows there's no album in sight, that's why she sneaked in the b-side for us
abra Posted October 3 Posted October 3 This is quite fun and the chorus is catchy but it feels too long. By the time it reaches 3:00 it could end.
Yawn Posted October 3 Posted October 3 it's better than tears but still not very strong. i don't understand why the song restarts literally half way through - it really just drags on and on, but then STILL continues to drag on yet again after that. did no one think to edit it down? 2

Yeah it's such a weird structure…

Actually they wanted to cut it - and she didnt let them. Quote With two-minute songs becoming the new standard, Perrie says she's determined not to follow that trend. "Someone asked me whether we should crunch 'You Go Your Way' down and make it a lot shorter and I was like 'No. I think the length is perfect.' It's long because there's so much going on, there are different sections. It's supposed to be like that. Music is art. Why are we trying to do it quickly? That is not inspiring." 2 1
glitch Posted October 3 Posted October 3 Agreed the chorus is pretty good but overall the song is a mess. She needed a pre-chorus too. The first time the chorus kicks in it's like 0 to 60 from the chill verses

Schami66 Posted October 3 Posted October 3 We're talking about 03:29 minutes... Calm down. Some of yall really deserve these tik tok snippets without bridges. 1 1 2 1

Saint James Posted October 3 Posted October 3 the structure was fine to me. sure it drags a little but I think that's mostly a production issue- it sounds very poor to me. which is a shame because there's a great song in there. this is her best single by a long shot. started off like Pink but veered much closer to Mariah by the end. commercially i don't see much happening. this would need payola but they won't bother.
abra Posted October 3 Posted October 3 The length of the song isn't the problem, the problem is it seems like it drags on forever because it relies on one verse, besides the song re-starting halfway through. It's like there are two bridges 1m30s apart from each other. The last minute is completely disposable.
Marceau Posted October 3 Posted October 3 I really like the song! It's catchy and it's stuck in my head. I just have one problem and it's the same that Forget About Us : the structure. A bit messy. But her whistles are so good.
The Slayer Posted October 3 Posted October 3 First time listen: I'm OBSESSED with the chorus but I agree there is like no flow, it feels random? It also could have been a lot shorter. A bit messy? Much better than Tears and can see this growing on me a lot as I am in love with the chorus. I love all the adlibs and the last half of the song. Update: second listen it growssssss! loving it! even though it is messy and no proper flow.
tbhmatt Posted October 3 Posted October 3 So, is everyone in agreement then that even if it's not perfect it's still her best song so far? I haven't listened yet but I am holding out hope I'll find more replay value in this

It goes from chill to 100 and then back down and back up again. I think because the 'ok' part is THAT catchy i'm loving it but I can see why people do not like the song too. It's definitely better than Tears.

Excited to hear later.

The Slayer Posted October 3 Posted October 3 (edited) Honestly, I love it after multiple listens. Now I think it is better than Forget About Us. Nothing special but catchy as hell. Edited October 3 by The Slayer
