WERKER Posted September 18 Posted September 18 I cannot wait!! Overall I have liked the music so far and I loved FAU but I need more!! I just hope she sees a better outcome with this than Tears
tbhmatt Posted September 19 Posted September 19 HOLD ON A MINUTE. She is BELTING FOR HER LIFE in that snippet she posted today. Could we finally be getting the 2000s Kelly clarkson esque pop rock we've been asking for???
glitch Posted September 20 Posted September 20 Wait a minute hold awn that snippet sounds kinda good? Maybe she's turning the wigs around
Popboi. Posted September 20 Posted September 20 Sounds much more interesting than the first 2, maybe she got it right now
tbhmatt Posted September 20 Posted September 20 OKAY, okay, OKAY indeed…. This sounds VERY promising… maybe she's about to turn things around with this one? I can't take another underwhelming song after the full version of Tears fell flat for me.. I like what I hear so far and she's actually giving us VOCALS this time. We just need the hook to be catchy and the production to be good too..

tbhmatt Posted September 20 Posted September 20 I wouldn't be mad at all if she fully leaned in to the 2000s pop rock sound
The Slayer Posted September 20 Posted September 20 I hope Jade doing well has given the others a kick up the ass. I wonder if there will be physicals for this release?
SpaceOddity Posted September 21 Posted September 21 She NEEDS to do 00's Kelly/Pink. It's cool she wants to lean into a more grown adult contemporary sound but like, make it catchy at least. 1
tbhmatt Posted September 21 Posted September 21 You can hear a bit more of the production/song proper here towards the end… sounds promising.. 1

AND enough of the FAU slander, it's a great pop track and really I wanted her to hone in on that pop rock vibe

And tbh Leigh-Anne has released the best material so far and has curated a cool, culturally relevant pop sound and her videos have slayed. Idk it bothers me hearing Jade fans constantly bringing her up. She's okay! 4

We can bring up whatever the hell we like, Jade's song and video alone was infinitely better than what the others have released. Perrie has been immensely safe, she needs to put out something interesting. I'm a fan of all four girls, to me it is a shame someone as talented as Perrie is putting out basic stuff when she is capable of much more. If it bothers you ignore the comments 2 1

If it bothers you ignore the comments Sis that's YOUR opinion so express that opinion in the JADE thread! She has one for her one single did you know that? You're off topic bringing up Jade, she has absolutely nothing to do with these girls solo careers. Keep her ass in the Jade thread! And no, My Love slayed Jades release if you really wanna compare now leave! User @revivval do we have an issue and/or rebuttal? Edited September 22 by Afterglow 3
tbhmatt Posted September 22 Posted September 22 I don't wanna say it too loudly in case I'm made to eat my words but I'm quietly confident she's about to turn things around with this one… the teasers sound so much more promising than FAU and especially Tears. I hope the full thing lives up to my hopes! 1

Well as a LM stan i dont mind comparison as long as there's no negativity or hate Its true that Perrie has been a letdown so far , Jade had the best debut and Leigh even though she had some great material, her poor live performances and the extremely poor productions of the songs that sound almost like demos had the result of not translating into success. And extremely poor production where? Everything from her debut to Nature has been glossy production. Her live performances have been great too. She serves choreo, live vocals, and looks. Do yall just hold black women to an entirely different standard? I gotta know this. Jade releases an okay single with a bit of bass and change in tempo and yall go crazy. Like...idk sis.... And Perrie hasn't been a letdown. She served great escapist pop with FAU and yall let her flop so they scrambled with the second single. Edited September 22 by Afterglow 2

You're being too defensive… It's ok if you like it but as a mixer I agree that comparing is fine as long as it's not toxic. Perrie's singles have been way, way below what she could deliver with a voice like that, but it seems like she has bad taste. Leigh Anne's EP is great, but there have been some questionable production at points. Obviously, she was always going to have a harder time being a black woman. JADE took a risk and showed a lot of personality and it reasonated well with the public. Don't Say Love is the one I played the most out of all them and Perrie's material is the one I played the least by far, but I do think JADE delivered the best package and seems to be the one most sure about where she's going and how she'll get there. She knows her public. 3
shark_heather Posted September 23 Posted September 23 @abra yeah i agree completely to everyword . Only thing i would change is Don't say Love to My Love @Afterglow yeah gurl just chill , i only stated facts , the funny thing is that Leigh is my favourite but still i can be objective about their solo stuff
glitch Posted September 23 Posted September 23 The instrumental on the snippet really reminds me of this
