Further, some of us just (gasp) enjoy music for what it is and don't let chart positions impact our opinions. Let that sink in and go argue with someone who cares about this superficial ****. You would be making a point if it wasn't obvious that Perrie signed with a major label with the ambition to make it big (she could've chosen the independent path) and she's releasing very mainstream songs (some written by Ed Sheeran) because her goal is to have chart success. She's not in it for the art, these songs are mediocre at best. Just pray she'll be able to release the album because apparently her label won't let her if the songs aren't big enough on streaming. Honestly these 3 singles are giving me " oh Ed Sheeran send me a song , i will release it as a lead ... oh these 10 seconds hooks seem kinda hit makers * in my head * , i will release them ... Feels like she hired a "team" to search for interesting hooks and who cares if they are completely different sounds and there is no concept . Just try to make a song out of it and hope to get a hit At this point i think we won't get an album from Perrie 4
Cbreezy Posted October 8 Posted October 8 (edited) Her material is unquestionably mid (though I do like FAU and think it's the type of basic that works for an act like her). However...I wish labels would better perfect their pivot. It's clear her singles aren't going to smash-smash. So rather than bench her or take a huge gap before the next single, they should rush out an EP as a quick-thinking plan b and buy themselves time to recalibrate for an album release. Or de-emphasize the "album" altogether by doing what Xtina did with her Spanish project. Drop the album as EPs that eventually make up the full LP. It de-emphasizes the sales aspect while allowing her to keep releasing material. It feels a bit futile typing that, because they won't do it. But some salvageable aspect is better than nothing. Perrie has the arguably unfortunate reality of being the only act still in the Sony fold solo, so I wonder if any soured sentiment from their handling of her solo journey (e.g. if they legit shelve her album) will have any bearing future Little Mix reunion releases (who are still a Sony act). butterflymimi Posted October 9 Posted October 9 I was wrong about this song, its her best I fear and its kinda stuck in my head a lot 1
SealitwithaJ Posted October 9 Posted October 9 This is SO SO SO good. I almost didn't even bother cause Tears was so worthless to me. Praying tears didn't kill all of her momentum and this can be a cute hit for her, it so deserves to be!
WERKER Posted October 9 Posted October 9 Im optimistic we will get the album. She's mentioning it constantly, its completed, it has a name etc.. 1
Imaginary Friend Posted October 11 Posted October 11 Okay Miss Perrie... this could be her best song. How are the numbers looking?

The Slayer Posted October 11 Posted October 11 I'm hoping this remained Top 50 but I think it'll have missed out..

Either way, it's not looking good. I wonder if she should have just dropped the album pre-orders with the lead single and pushed hard for a few weeks trying to keep up momentum. There's no feeling of momentum with her that it feels like there is with Jade. Even Leigh's singles seemed to be building to something before that fizzled out.
iamluisfelipe Posted October 11 Author Posted October 11 Queen Pez debuted at #52 on the Official Charts 2
WERKER Posted October 11 Posted October 11 Oh Christ I was really hoping for a top 40 especially with physicals, that many digital copies etc.
Dula Peep Posted October 11 Posted October 11 I think she should try jumping on a David Guetta/DJ song to try to get a hit if that's what she's going for... 2 1

One particular was convinced that the song was only out a few days and would randomly gain momentum thereafter. This chart showing shows that the music is all wrong. I really hope they figure something out as I want to hear the album but this is single #3 😭 1
The Slayer Posted October 11 Posted October 11 Well, atleast it did better than Tears. She's going in the right direction song wise and video wise! 1

glitch Posted October 11 Posted October 11 I wonder if the album is cancelled now. I hope it is and they send her back to the drawing board to write some better music 5

Sexyzinger Posted October 11 Posted October 11 Just now, glitch said: I wonder if the album is cancelled now. Making it obvious they are shopped-around fully-packaged songs for her lol 3
The Slayer Posted October 11 Posted October 11 Surely she must jump on a collab now... i know she said her next single is a collab but judging from the quality, I hope she jumps on someone elses song and gets a quick Top 40 hit. She needs to collab with David Guetta.
The Slayer Posted October 11 Posted October 11 The sales are in, with comparison to 'Tears' thanks to a BJ user. CDs: Tears 529 You Go Your Way 587 Vinyl: Tears 437 You Go Your Way 442 Cassettes: Tears 127 You Go Your Way 114 Wow, the sales were really poor which is shocking.
alexaalto Posted October 11 Posted October 11 Me, Myself & You is cute tho, I expected a bit more but then again, it is only a b-side
Danai G Posted October 12 Posted October 12 The song was number one on the sales chart and third on vinyls chart. It's clear that they struggle with the streaming numbers and unfortunately, that's something that cannot change, unless they release better songs and actually bother to promote them.
