Maybe these "wildly impulsive thoughtless takes" are actually a reflection of how casual listeners are responding to Perrie's music. If you think a first-few-days Spotify position is an objective indication of "good" music or the GP's opinion (which I also couldn't give a **** about), you clearly don't understand the multitude of other factors that impact chart positions. Further, some of us just (gasp) enjoy music for what it is and don't let chart positions impact our opinions. Let that sink in and go argue with someone who cares about this superficial ****.
Afterglow Posted October 6 Posted October 6 If this doesn't take off I really think they should try for a poppy ballad next.
alexaalto Posted October 7 Posted October 7 (edited) I do enjoy the verses and part of the chorus but the switch from verse to chorus is too abrupt. the weakest of the singles, still an okay song but I do love FAU and Tears a lot since the beggining wouldn't mind radio edit from this one tho. I love long tracks if they are properly built and have a good structure but this just seems a bit long (jarring) when do those CD's and vinyls arrive? I can't wait to hear the side B track Me, Myself & You https://store.perrieofficial.com/collections/music/products/you-go-your-way-cd-single I truly hope they will let her release her debut soon Edited October 7 by alexaalto

Not going to spoil it but it's cute 1
WERKER Posted October 7 Posted October 7 ATP if they're chasing charts they need to either reevaluate the music she's releasing or throw her on some DJ tracks (which she'll smash) and put those on the deluxe to help the album in the long run. otherwise I'm hopeful they'll let her finish her vision and release the album. She's teased a collab for her fourth single anyway 3
ThatGUY Posted October 7 Posted October 7 My issue with Perrie is how she is being marketed. For some reason her music, MVs and image all seem very US-centric and it just doesn't click with her main audience, it feels inauthentic. Releasing a country-esque song as your debut and then this current MV just feels US centric (despite the London sign). This isn't a bad thing at all by any means but for Perrie, who we already know as a down to earth geordie girl, it feels inauthentic and you can tell she doesn't know who or what her image is and neither do her label but they still keep pushing this narrative. Maybe its because Jade came out SO authentic that's why I feel the way I do.
Sazare Posted October 7 Posted October 7 there's a few neat production flourishes buried deep within this otherwise jumbled mess of a song tbh I have nothing against Perrie but looking back it's kinda funny I thought she was going to be the big solo star of Little Mix 2

Some anonymous features on some UK DJ tracks like Rudimental et al would prob serve her better than these goofy Radical Optimism-reject-sounding cuts 1

CallumDavies Posted October 7 Posted October 7 This is so bad. The last minute additions of random high notes and belts 1
UnusualBoy Posted October 7 Posted October 7 I don't know how to feel about the song, it's not bad but it sounds weird lol.
kayliah Posted October 7 Posted October 7 the song is crap. Great vocals but it is still a crappy song. The label put her up with the wrong producers. She's beautiful with a sturdy powerful voice and yet the songs are just painful and abject. I love her but unfortunately i dont listen to the singles. Will the label let her release other singles or even the album at this point. She should have been wiser and really combed through the songs and look for that banger of a lead that is fresh, innovative, current and catchy. If she lets teams or record execs give her bad songs its on her, you gotta fight to kickstart a career these days at 30 years old.
tyt Posted October 7 Posted October 7 The song is cute but I need her to go Ella Henderson/Jess Glynne/Becky Hill route though She would sound explosive and do better chart wise in a dance track (No Time For Tear/HBA) But I'm afraid maybe she is not that type of girlie
WERKER Posted October 7 Posted October 7 The girlies are even buying the song on iTunes and she's still dropping like crazy Spend some money on autoplay like Sabrina did Perrie sis
tbhmatt Posted October 8 Posted October 8 She teased a little snippet of Rollercoaster (you can't hear sh*t because it's so LQ so don't get excited ddd)
superglowy Posted October 8 Posted October 8 That 'Rollercoaster' clip is so Mariah-circa-1995 coded. Why wasn't this the 2nd single?!?
