Afterglow Posted October 4 Posted October 4 This is a bop idk what yall are talking about. A natural progression from. FAU which was also a bop. She needs to hone in on the pure pop and pop/rock lite sounds. 2
lillavend3r Posted October 4 Posted October 4 This sucks lol one time a song could use a shorter track length they let it run for almost 4 minutes
popstyle Posted October 4 Posted October 4 (edited) i think i like it lol. I still need to listen more. I do love the video though the dancing is so good. Edited October 4 by popstyle
Jack! Posted October 5 Posted October 5 I don't dislike this, but it's interesting how in a time where songs are too short and many pop fans long for songs to be longer than 3 minutes, my main complaint is this feels sluggish at times. Like the original song sounds like an extended edit, it goes nowhere in places and the climax/hook hits you in the first minute and nothing else is added. Could have shaved a minute off collectively at different points in the song and it would be perfect.
zeta Posted October 5 Posted October 5 WOW, what a video. This is first time I finally see the popstar in her on her own. I also love the song and it's structure / production. 1
Lady Claire Posted October 5 Posted October 5 This is cute but not great Def her best song so far though! I would like it more if she dropped stronger singles before this one but it's ok. I hope it does at least decent on the charts

tbhmatt Posted October 5 Posted October 5 I haven't watched the full performance yet but from the clips it sounds like she crushed her Graham Norton performance
as926 Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Yet again so many people in here giving wildly impulsive and thoughtless takes. This is the most interesting thing she has released to date. 2 1

P!nk Posted October 5 Posted October 5 The video and live performance have definitely enhanced the song for me. The choreography in the video and if I'm not mistaken, all shot in one take? Impressive. Her live vocals are brilliant, as always. The live band / arrangement really suit the song and it makes the song structure sound much more cohesive.
georgechxng Posted October 5 Posted October 5 This song will flop, and thought it was terrible on first listens with the structure, repetitiveness, etc. BUT something finally clicked for me last night, and I've been listening non-stop. Those who get it, get it 1

Maybe these "wildly impulsive thoughtless takes" are actually a reflection of how casual listeners are responding to Perrie's music. 1

She doesn't have the momentum at this point to have another FAU, of course she won't be pulling numbers. Be fr now. Arts not charts

It's easy to sit up here and say "arts not charts" when it's not like she's releasing the most experimental songs right now. That's Jade. Miss Perrie is acting like she's back on the X Factor. 2

Maybe these "wildly impulsive thoughtless takes" are actually a reflection of how casual listeners are responding to Perrie's music. Not this passive response. No, the reason why this has missed the top 200 is because no one knows this song is out / Perrie isn't a big force on her own. It's not realistic without a big push for any of the girls to debuting high outside of their debut singles on streaming. Let's just hope the audience respond to the material she's releasing and she can maintain a fanbase and then release an album.
WERKER Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Also just to note Perrie basically sabotaged Tears' roll out by refusing to promote it and going on holiday on release because Jade was about to debut. She underperformed and let it die and is coming off a big underperformance. A top 40 debut and a few weeks in it would be good at this point. 1
hotfire2012 Posted October 5 Posted October 5 (edited) the live performance was brilliant!!! The song is a grower (a slow one) but it's way better than her previous efforts...I think she should release something more R&B/Urban (like Confetti, Think About Us...) even a collab with some female rapper...
