Vespertine Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Rihanna yes. Britney? I'm nostalgic for the glory days, sure, but I don't "miss" her in the sense that I think she urgently needs to release music again. She stopped releasing good music a very long time ago, and being a pop star / famous celebrity is clearly not healthy for her. I'd rather see Britney take many years away from the spotlight (leave Hollywood, leave social media, etc.) and heal.
Mke1979 Posted September 14 Posted September 14 I miss them both, yes! They were always known for cranking out lots of singles and lots of albums and always generally catchy songs from the gym, car or clubs. I use to love all the remixes that were commissioned for every single too. LOTS! Now, nothing! It's strange because both of them are not even that old, but they have put out so much and done so much already, but as a fan, I feel like we have not had ANY CLOSURE to EITHER OF THEM! I mean, they just stopped making music. They have such a robust back catalog, you mean to tell me they both aren't sitting on at least one album's worth of unreleased material, b-sides, demos? That's what I am waiting for from both of them- an unreleased/b-sides/demos collection! We never had any proper send off in regards to their music.
Sailor Moon Posted September 14 Posted September 14 (edited) Yes, their music doesn't go wrong (most of the times) Edited September 14 by Sailor Moon
ericcartman Posted September 14 Posted September 14 (edited) Rihanna yes. She was THE hitmaker of our generation and her catalog is still being consumed a decade later. Britney peaked in her first 1-2 albums and is not needed in today's music landscape. She is a relic of 99-01. Edited September 14 by ericcartman 1 15
zoldyck Posted September 14 Posted September 14 No bops/demos that they were about to get are probably out there with someone's name on it.
mons†er Posted September 14 Posted September 14 I do but then I don't. Music isn't as fun when you have certain artists carrying the genre on their backs. Granted the material is 8 times out of 10 superb, Britney and Rihanna not being on the scene at the moment has left a lot of room for new artists to shine and flourish. I also don't think Britney has another album in her. She doesn't have the drive that I'm used to from her and that's absolutely fine. She's done more than enough in her career and I'm beyond appreciative of her. Rihanna is just a liar and that album is not coming anytime soon. I do hope this next album is her second to last. 10 albums and a greatest hits album would be a perfect close to her career IMO.
Gorjesspazze9 Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Yes, but pop music changed so much. I wonder how a Britney album in 2024 would sound, same with Rihanna. I think it be more Dance leaning then Glory or Anti were nowadays
PYT Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Love them both but I miss Rihanna more. I think Rihanna still has the ears for bops and her vocals are still decent. Britney's vocals sadly have gone downhill and her last release manjobi is a total dud...
Brooklyn Baby Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Here we go again with the usuals saying "Rihanna never cared about music" If she never cared why did she release 7 albums in 8 years 2
Heldenzeit Posted September 14 Posted September 14 I never really listened to their music so no, not really. Not much has changed for me.

Manjobi was recorded back in 2012/2013 so technically Glory and Hold Me Closer are more loyal to what a new Britney release would sound like. 1 2
Mupps Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Yes, the landscape has moved on without them and that's okay but imo it's not as interesting anymore as it was when they were both active. I try to get into other pop girls but they bore me quickly, there's just something missing that I can't describe. I'm biased though so… I'm glad tinashe is still around to deliver And hopefully gags will release bops like on TFM again, that'd be awesome! 1
Migs Posted September 14 Posted September 14 I miss them a lot, especially Britney. I think their priorities have changed. Rihanna might come back one day, but I really doubt Britney will. At least, we have the memories to cherish.
starsailor Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Tbh, I don't miss Britney anymore. She's being that robotic souless doll since Circus, and it was a pain to watch her. but yes, I miss that old Britney a lot, but she is not being in active since Blackout. Almost 20 years already. And sadly, she is too hurt now to comeback. Rihanna was THAT BÏTCH, so powerful, fun and releasing the best bops her producers could create (and don't fool yourself here. They were massive bops because of Rihanna's magic on it). I miss her a lot, but probably it's something similar that I feel with Britney. I don't know if she still has that drive anymore. She is doing other things now, and is probably happier without all that huge pressure on her. But yeah, if they could come back with that energy and attitude they used to have, I will be a much happier gay lol.

That's some bullsh*t even and you know it. Toxic, one of her - if not THE - signature songs, came out in 2004. Then there was Gimme More, her magnum opus Blackout, the big comeback with her Circus album, Till The World Ends, Scream & Shout and even the recent success of Hold Me Closer. But props to you for trying, boo. Edited September 14 by Migs 3

They put out so many bops over the years that I'm not sure there's really anything else they can add that they haven't already done. A few cute little singles here and there from them would be nice though. This. Plus, I feel neither of their hearts would be in it anymore and wouldn't compare to their past work anyways. Glory and Anti are both great albums to leave off on. 1

PiperHalliwell Posted September 14 Posted September 14 No, i totally forget my two all time faves existed
Pheromosa Posted September 14 Posted September 14 (edited) No. Rihanna despite not releasing music has still been everywhere and social media. Feels like she's never left to me Edited September 14 by Pheromosa 1
Ashley Banks Posted September 14 Posted September 14 I didn't listen to Britney much but definitely Rihanna. I don't think she'll ever release another album unfortunately
