Like...i went with my expectations at 0 and somehow it was even worse. They had nothing. The movie barely had a story. How did this cost almost 200M?

Just saw the movie again and yeah I still really like it. It could have been a lot lot stronger imo, especially from a rewatch. The reception isn't super surprising to me but I really enjoyed it still (obviously bc i love Gaga as well that helped).

Set pieces cost a lot. They built a lot of sets, had a lot of big props, shot on location (a full NYC courthouse, abandoned prison that was retorifttted, shutting down an entire LA street to film a chase scene). Movies cost a lot of money regardless of whether you're shooting on location or not. Actors salaries probably ranged around 70m alone. They shot on Imax.

word of mouth must be spreading FAST about this  at least Megaflopolis gave us a fun aubrey plaza performance 

My theater was pretty full but also one of 13 locations ww showing it in 70mm so that's prob why lol
