Tizley Posted August 30 Posted August 30 I'm such a huge fan of Ashley, so I was disappointed the album was so awful. The lyrics were bad, all the songs sounded the same, and there wasn't anything special about it. Voices in My Head & Love Me and Let Me Go were manageable at the time but I don't ever listen to them anymore. Just give us the Headstrong and Guilty Pleasure vinyls PLEASE 🙏 1

paulyyyozd Posted August 30 Posted August 30 Well, yes. I think it was a cute effort tbh, it's not horrendous but definitely very bland and forgettable. Meanwhile Headstrong and especially Guilty Pleasure are classics and go insanely hard
Minto Posted August 30 Posted August 30 it was faceless and boring but i expected that sound from miles away she was never gonna build on the sound from her debut and sophomore lmao
Dolce Vita Posted August 30 Posted August 30 (edited) she falls under the boring brand of millennial upper middle class white pop girl that fell off and now make folky pop music that you listen to while driving to the farmers market Edited August 30 by Dolce Vita 2
iamluisfelipe Posted August 30 Posted August 30 I really enjoyed that album. So no, I dont think its a bad follow up, I just think she evolved and matured lol
Phaunzie Posted August 30 Posted August 30 I am sorry, compared to Dignity by Hiliary, Ashley Tisdale gave us better material with way more adventurous production. Like it is not that bad. 4
Sprite Posted August 30 Posted August 30 (edited) I liked it but House music tends to sound kind of generic sorry... Edited August 30 by Sprite

If only she used some of that coin for decent writers and producers.

Movimento Perpétuo Posted August 30 Posted August 30 The album is not good tbh. Guilty Pleasure is still such a good generic pop/pop-rockish album tho. 1

I mean, we have her other two previous albums, Vanessa Hudgens' albums, Zendaya's debut album and many other worse options

prézli Posted August 30 Posted August 30 Absolutely. GP is one of the best pop albums of all time. Symptoms is unlistenable and she thought she had her Lana Del Rey moment.

Selegend Posted August 30 Posted August 30 the fact that she released anything after a decade was already a win for her fans. love me & let me go was cute. title track was cute too. feeling so good got a little bit of playlisting, it has 13m on Spotify love me & let me go or title track deserved.
BoDaToe Posted August 30 Posted August 30 Yes, super disappointing. Idk why people pretend it's good. She should've done what Vanessa did and just leave music alone. Her first two albums were iconic and Symptoms diminished her catalog.
