Stunnah Posted August 28 Posted August 28 (edited) This video is from 2013. Here is a timeline of the events preceding: 1994: R. Kelly, then 27, illegally marries 15-year-old singer Aaliyah. The marriage is later annulled when the falsified age on the marriage certificate is discovered. 1996: Kelly is sued by Tiffany Hawkins, who claims she began a sexual relationship with him at 15. The lawsuit is settled out of court for $250,000 in 1998. 2002: A videotape surfaces allegedly showing R. Kelly engaging in depraved sexual acts with a 14-year-old girl. Kelly is indicted on 21 counts of child *****graphy. 2004: Kelly faces additional child *****graphy charges in Florida after photos are found in his home, but the case is dismissed due to issues with the search warrant. 2008: Kelly's trial on the 2002 charges finally begins. The key victim and her family refuse to testify, leading to doubts about the prosecution's case. Ultimately, Kelly is acquitted on all counts, largely due to the jury's inability to confirm the identity of the girl in the video. Edited August 28 by Stunnah 1 8

Infernal Paradise Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Crawling back ten years, when Katy was last relevant, to open old topics that have been discussed to death while Katy bombs repeatedly with Dr. Puke co-produced songs in the year 2024. Oh KatyClowns... 1 4 6
RideOrDie Posted August 28 Posted August 28 you can count on kitkats to forever be stuck in 2013 that's for sure, just like the quality of their faves music 3 10
Illuminati Posted August 28 Posted August 28 She said she was a fan, I guess it's like how some people defend MJ
Spicy Pisces Posted August 28 Posted August 28 51 likes in that tweet where you actively searching for this stuff? that's concerning 2
ChooseyLover Posted August 28 Posted August 28 (edited) Read Gaga's statement if you really want to find out. She was very sincere and clear about what her mindset really was at that moment and she didn't sweeten it. Edited August 28 by ChooseyLover 7 3

And P Diddy being an abuser was as much of an open secret in the entertainment industry as Weinstein when Smile was recorded, unfortunately. No wonder she scrambled to remove the song from the final tracklist. Unfortunately for her though the collab still made it on early vinyls of the album. 4+ years later and still no apology. Why?
Aston Martin Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Working with and defending him was an awful thing to do, and you're not going to find a Liddo that thinks otherwise. Gaga herself would probably agree with that statement in the year 2024, which is the reason that she apologized (and was thanked by one of R Kelly's victims as a result) and DWUW is no longer on any streaming platforms. Has anyone else who worked with R Kelly taken their song(s) with him off of streaming platforms as well? 6
Kayseri Mantisi Posted August 28 Posted August 28 you are literally talking about 1994 while we're in 2024. Gaga shelving the music video at that time, later on taking action and removing their collaboration from everywhere, apologizing publicly, making a statement about it etc. is clear indication that she DID care. meanwhile in 2024 people are still willingly actually working with rapists to get hits.... so yeah OGH try again 5
YourFavoriteWeapon Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Does it matter? She last worked with him over ten years ago, realized she ****** up, apologized to all his victims, and went as far to remove the collaboration from both streaming services and physical copies as a way to ensure he no longer earns a dime from it. I'm not a victim of R. Kelly's but I am a victim of rape and CSA and I can tell that Gaga's apology was really heartfelt and honest, especially considering she is a victim of rape herself. Now, if you asked Gaga if she believes R. Kelly's victims were telling the truth, she'd say yes. If you asked Katy if she believes Kesha and the other woman Luke was accused of sexually assaulting were telling the truth, she'd either most likely say no or show that she doesn't give a **** about her being all buddy buddy with a man responsible for putting women through sexual abuse (as well as verbal/emotional/financial abuse and pushing a woman to relapse with her eating disorder to the point where she became hospitalized). That is the stark and clear difference between Gaga's morals and Katy's "morals". Now go worry about 143. 12

cyberraga Posted August 28 Posted August 28 In any case, working with R Kelly and defending him was very wrong. Thankfully she apologized, the victims praised her, and she deplatformed the song. What is worse however is continuing to unapologetically work with an abuser in 2024, especially after calling his victim's traumatic experience "a case of sour grapes".
Rino Posted August 28 Posted August 28 (edited) does it matter why she defended him in the past if today she feels bad about doing so? the more pressing question is why is Katy still residing in Planet Unbothered after going back to her ex-friend's abuser? Edited August 28 by Rino 2

Do you not know what "open secret" means? Why do you think Katie Perrie (sp?) rushed to remove the collab from the final tracklist? They knew very well. Thankfully we will always have early productions of the vinyl as proof of this gruesome twosome. 1

Yes, it does, since there were criminal trials involving the abuse of minors before the collaboration. Feeling bad doesn't excuse her own actions, which must have harmed his victims.
Burn Posted August 28 Posted August 28 (edited) I mean the simple answer is because she was trying a lil too hard to be edgy. It's also why she was working with Terry Richardson and doing those weird Marina Abramović rituals at the time. I do believe her when she says she regrets it. Edited August 28 by Burn 3
Nico Robin Posted August 28 Posted August 28 She apologized and erased this songs version from planet earth, what more do you want? 3
