Pinksus Posted October 25 Posted October 25 Just finished the album Such a ride. Wish I could hug Halsey and tell her everything will be alright Maybe my favorite album of the year
NoOneDiesFromLove Posted October 25 Posted October 25 Darwinism! Kinda reminds me of Good Enough by Evanescence (the piano part)
Achilles. Posted October 25 Posted October 25 Seven songs in and this is already a major artistic triumph. Spoiler Super bummed by the Cher track serving dud on first listen
Technicolor Posted October 25 Posted October 25 Let me listen this now. Are there any other songs like Lonely Is the Muse? I'm obsessed with that one
Achilles. Posted October 25 Posted October 25 "Letter To God (1983)" being about her illness but dating it that way ties it to the emergence of AIDS, and some of the lyrics seem to reference that directly. And that being the Springsteen song when he wrote "Streets of Philadelphia." Oh her mind.

ariesgroove Posted October 25 Posted October 25 such a beautiful record, halsey has been an amazing writer but ever since manic they've really been flourishing. i didn't know about their diagnosis but knowing they wrote this record with the idea that it would be their last album really makes it feel all the more intense of a listen. an amazing conceptual idea and another great record! 3
Gladiator Posted October 25 Posted October 25 I read a comment describing this album as: "Raw, vulnerable, fearful, a slight tinge of hope. This was not made for anyone except for Halsey and she clearly did it to release all of her thoughts and fears thinking she was near her end. This is her greatest body of work without a doubt." 3
