I could see her going #1 in a later week so I think people just need to be patient.

Could that not be reflective of an issue from the inside though? I imagine mass releasing multiple variants in a 24 hour period right at the end of the tracking week and at the start of a long holiday weekend could delay the process, no? Could they be doing some kind of manual audit? I dont know. Just thoughts.

It shouldn't take 60+ hours to sort it out. If it does, then we should go to implementing the estimating the last day rule like the UK charts do. I actually wouldn't mind that because it would make it harder to game the system, and thus, cut down on the BS tactics.

i'm sorry but that man's album got 5m avg. streams/day, who tf bought that much physicals? like his fanbase didn't even stream him…

I can understand if it's Friday and the tracking week just finished. It's now Sunday at noon. 2.5 days have passed since tracking period ended. All the data for the tracking week should be in at this point. Anyone who puts out numbers with incomplete data on a Sunday is full of hot air.

I mean, that's just literally not how this works. Reported numbers may need to be validated or audited (especially web store numbers), and Luminate numbers aren't actually "true" sales at all but the result of applying mathematical models to reported true sales to attempt to fill gaps in their reporting network, which takes time when you're talking about doing that on the scale of the entire American music industry. It especially takes time if there's any suspected falsehood coming from some retailer and that falsehood is materially impacting the final Billboard charts, because things need to be double and triple checked, deeper analysis and validation need to happen, and there may even need to be decisions made about excluding a certain category of D2C sales or retailers because of the relative frequency of D2C sales impacting the chart so much lately. And it's a holiday weekend! If that user has been reliable in the past, as others are saying, there's literally no reason to suspect them of lying now just because it seems a little late for these things to be happening.

I would say it's less position than the numbers that show how impressive her rise is. some #1 albums this year were under 70k.

18k to over 300k, at least 17x bigger than before

The bonus tracks were only available as a purchase and not for streaming. That's why it has more sales than streams.

Right? That kind of increase is huge. To basically have the biggest female debut outside of Beyoncé and Taylor? Outdebuting every gen z main pop girls first weeks? That's massive.

Unfortunately, a lot of online conversations don't care about nuance or context, so she'll be getting that missed #1 thrown in her face for months to come.

Lol yeah poor both of them. Billie and Sabrina came in with two of the most hyped albums of the summer and both got blocked by a very different TS.

Yeah, I think this is a first. Even in that Rare vs. Roddy Ricch week (in which the BB 200 was delayed to Tuesday, the day after MLK), we still got the HDD article that Friday.

I would be shocked if we got the BB 200 before Tuesday. We might be looking at the charts on Wednesday at this point.

:psyduck:

Le sigh...

What a mess

The thing is Sabrina's album should have legs. There are no major releases coming in September so it's possible once his stuff dies down she can claim it if she doesn't claim it this week.

Does she has vinyls or merch? She can always do it later. Travis is likely frontloaded so if she misses it debut week she needs to plan this month for a week where there are no debuts since her album should have the legs to remain top 3 for quite some time.

Espresso still gets good streams. Please please please has not peaked on radio yet and Taste is right there with Bed Chem creeping around the corner for TEAs.

I think the week of September 13 or 27 could be good for her to have a No. 1 album. The week of September 20 I assume that Chappell will be having a great chance at No. 1 as the anniversary edition / several variants are coming out.

Renan's thread "BB 200: Travis Scott #1" got removed. The last time this happened was when he put out a thread for OTaaT being #1, and Toby Keith's album ended up #1.

This might be an omen that Sabrina got the #1.

None, just Renan prematurely posting a thread, which immediately got deleted.
