so let's say Gaga didn't have a solo smash since 2011. does that fact affect her career's state in any significant way? 
it appears not, because right now she has a smash song/Grammys contender with an A-list singer and an upcoming blockbuster/Oscar contender movie with an A-list actor.

Who cares about 'solo' by this point? Other singers collabed with hot DJs like Alesso or Zedd, even remixing an already hit by Daddy Yankee and still flopped along the way. And even like that, Gaga's last solo top 5 was with her last album, while others can't score something like that since 2013

Umm Bruno isn't getting solo smashes either. He literally hasn't even released a solo single in 7 years

 

And if DWAS success is all down to Bruno's "hitmaking abilities" how come this is outperforming all of his most recent releases? Thank you Lady Gaga, I guess.

It's doing much better in the US than mainland europe (where Gaga was actually huge at one point) and Bruno has alot more pull in the anglosphere. So we can tell who's carrying this song's numbers
