UseYourIllusion2002 Posted October 3 Posted October 3 I know she's hated now but Katy is so low. OOTD, TD, and PRISM are perfect pop eras. Especially TD. She, Taylor, and Rihanna have like the biggest hits catalogue for the 21st century.
Rev8 Posted October 3 Posted October 3 Eminem is overrated to me, but his huge success and influence made me think he would be much Much higher.. I am even surprised Britney is below him she isn't much of a charts girl, despite being hugely successful herself ..and BB usually focuses more on Charts so.. but nicely surprised that they appreciate her more getting more of ha flowers
iHype. Posted October 3 Posted October 3 Ariana ranked above Eminem is so silly and this is coming from someone who listens to her 10x more Success, impact, acclaim, etc isn't comparable
lustforyou Posted October 3 Posted October 3 Does anyone have the list of the 25 honorable mentions? Was Selena on that? (I know she's not placing at this point lol, I'd just find it strange if she wasn't even an honorable mention)

Jeremiah Posted October 3 Posted October 3 No matter the metric, there's NO way Eminem isn't top 3. Flawed list
SylMacPer Posted October 3 Posted October 3 They think Beyonce, Gaga and Ari are bigger than Eminem??? WTF??? 1

Let's predict the rankings of the remaining ones? I think my predictions are listed as above... 1. Britney Spears 2. Beyonce 3. Christina Aguilera 4. Taylor Swift 5. Lady Gaga 6. Ariana Grande 7. Justin Bieber 8. Rihanna 9. Pink 10. Dua Lipa 11. Drake 2

Christina, Gaga, Pink, Avril and Dua should be on there aside from the obvious ones like Beyonce, Britney, Taylor and Bieber. 1

Dua, like her but she definitely doesn't belong in top 25 conversation as of now.
Galah Posted October 3 Posted October 3 This list has been confirmed a joke as soon as Katy was announced as low as #25. Peak Katy washes everyone on the list so far, sans a couple.

After 2006's chart-topping Back to Basics, the hits dried up pretty fast: Aguilera never released another totally successful album, and her only major pop successes of the last 15 years have come as features. https://www.billboard.com/lists/best-pop-stars-21st-century-honorable-mentions/christina-aguilera-8/ Edited October 3 by Richie.Valdez

I'm not sure why Amy would be that high While I love Britney, the only way she'd be #1 is if they gave her brownie points for making Max Martin the go to producer and giving him his first #1 hit and it led to a massive impact on most people on the list. Britney should be top 10 and hopefully close to top 5 but #1...hmm I think it's going to be Taylor at #1 1
Pinkbutterflies Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Eminem should be number 2 with Taylor number 1. You can tell this list was definitely made by gay men. 1
Triton Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Um no to Amy and Frank. Maroon 5 and The Black Eyed Peas are right there.
Rhythm Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Taylor is for sure to be crowned at the top, if only on the strength of her multiple monster-selling releases over the last 15 years alone. The hysteria around her celebrity may be relatively new, but she's been a dominant force in sales for the better part of the millennium. But them giving it to Beyoncé wouldn't be all that surprising. She's still the media's favorite ultimately (yes, even present-day) and essentially the modern reference of the prototypical pop superstar, and the fact that she actually has the edge over Taylor in seniority and has managed to literally be one of the most relevant stars for the entire duration of the 21st century is a strong point in her favor. A few names so far should've been omitted, by the way.
Triton Posted October 4 Posted October 4 BTS, One Direction and Bad Bunny can go. Nicki needs to be lower. Beyonce (all the stats and complete longevity, active all the time) Taylor Swift (Stats but Beyonce still has more longevity and DC launchpad) Adele Rihanna Britney Usher Justin Drake Maroon 5 Black Eyed Peas Ariana/Pink Iffy about Kanye West, wouldn't mind if they snubbed him

lonnie Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Taylor will top the list of course. Drake will most likely be in the top five, if not three. So it'll probably be: 1.) Taylor 2.) Beyoncé 3.) Adele 4.) Drake 5.) Rihanna 6.) Justin Bieber 7.) Britney 8.) Lady Gaga 9.) Usher 10.) P!nk 11.) Kanye West Or that's what makes sense anyway.

Pink was in the "honorable mentions" so replace her with Ariana
