Billboard's Greatest Pop Stars of the 21st Century | #2 Taylor Swift

It's a good spot for Britney. Keep in mind the majority of the first era is not counted, though a lot of its sales did happen in this century. She also lacked longevity as she burned out quickly and never recovered. The artists above her have maintained longevity (even Rihanna who retired early but she retired on top on her own terms plus her catalog is still huge)

No idea if they would place Beyonce or Taylor at #1, this will be a mess

I thought Taylor initially but now I that I've really thought about it-- it's going to be Beyoncé.

She's the only person to dominate the entire century thus far without hiccup.

It should be Taylor at #1 but I think they'll feel pressured to give it to Beyonce.

I liked some of your post but this is wrong.

She got an amazing run and stay on top of her game with her first 4 albums. Then semi repeak with Blackout and repeak again with Circus and FF, she fall short with BJ but the whole Vegas residency going on to keep her name afloat, and somehow managed to stay relevant with Glory.

Her bio book sold over 3 millions WW and scored a top 10 on BB hot 100 just couple years ago.

So your statement of lack longevity, burn out and never recover totally wrong. I known this site is hating on Britney but you have to give her credit when it's due.

I think it'll go;

1. Taylor

2. Beyoncé

3. Drake

4. Rihanna

5. Gaga

I want and think Rih should be top 3 but her hiatus will probably bring her down.

That Britney stan still trying to convince everyone that The Gift and Harlequin are studio albums. ijbol.

If we're being real Rihanna should have just as much of a chance as Beyoncé and Taylor but her inactivity probably hurts her.

5. Maroon 5 / Beyonce

4. Maroon 5 / Beyonce

3. Rihanna

2. Drake

1. Taylor Swift

if Katy on Top 25 with back to back gigantic era (TD & Prism), i could see Gaga on Top 30.

Maroon 5 was already listed as an honorable mention, so they are not a contender for a top 5 slot :sistrens:

:rip: I didn't know that.

Billboard didn't mention Morgan Wallen, i fear he would be Top 5 instead Gaga.

I still believe Gaga wouldn't be Top 5:gaycat1:

Exactly :rip: People here act like she completely fell out of discussion after 2007. She was releasing hit albums all the way till BJ.

So this is Britney, minus her massive BOMT debut era, and she's still amongst your faves?

The only one in the top 6 who started her solo career in the 90s with solo material that won't count for this list?

And y'all are dragging her? :rip:

:deadvision:  OBHs remains booked and busy doing too much on the very MPG behind the formation of this site

Yes the GP doesn't, seeing why Beyoncé's career is STILL going while the other's career died almost two decade ago

Ooo how I'd love me some dead career for two decades with a NYT best-selling autobiography and top-10 BB hit in the past two years

5th place is "an artist who paid a particularly memorable tribute to Britney at one point in the early 2010s".

Objectively Taylor should be #1 but I wouldn't be surprised if Billboard gives in to stan culture pressure to avoid backlash and goes in with the safer PR pick (Beyoncé).
