StayFrosty Posted October 30 Posted October 30 Quote Her '90s accomplishments were not factored into the Billboard staff's calculations when determining her ranking on this solely 21st-century-based list.) That makes sense to tbh. Her first era represents a large swath of her pop career. Now Ariana being HIGHER than Eminem. Is the real gag 💀💀.

morgichu Posted October 30 Posted October 30 Taylor Rihanna Gaga and Drake being higher makes me feel physically ill 1
Arrows Posted October 30 Posted October 30 1. Taylor 2. Beyoncé 3. Eminem 4. Britney 5. Justin Bieber 7. Rihanna 6. Gaga 7. Drake 8. Adele 9. Kanye West 10. Ariana Grande This would be my top 10 1
RihannaLoverrr Posted October 30 Posted October 30 I think the top 5 will be; 1. Taylor 2. Beyonce 3. Drake 4. Rihanna 5. Gaga I want and think Rih should be top 3 but her being inactive for so long I can see it putting her out the top 3.

State of Grace. Posted October 30 Posted October 30 "She should be Top 3!!!!" Certainly not with Taylor, Beyoncé, and Rihanna still in. The list has some messy rankings, but this is not one of them. It makes total sense when you look at the things taken into consideration + Britney's biggest and most important era not counting towards it. 1
Smilers Posted October 30 Posted October 30 It's a fair placement for her. Out of the ones left, the only one that she possibly outranks is Drake but I guess they needed at least one male there.
Mr. Duff Posted October 30 Posted October 30 I still don't get the criteria for ranking the popstars, and as much as I love Britney I still think Adele and Justin Bieber should have been higher than her. Her and Lady Gaga are the ones I'd kick off the top five. Oh well, just my opinion, maybe they have a definitive criteria. I'm happy for Britney though, out of the game for long now but she's still regarded as one of the greats, that's an amazing feat and a mark of an impactful artist. Of the remaining top five, this is what I hope for: 1. Taylor Swift 2. Beyonce 3. Rihanna 4. Drake 5. Lady Gaga But I think they will rank Gaga higher (maybe Drake too) and I won't be surprised if Taylor or Beyonce "only" ranks 5th or 4th.
Tayman Posted October 30 Posted October 30 I think it's ok for Brit to be #6, she started before the 2000's so makes sense, she's a legend that's why she deserves top 10 definitely. 1
kwek_kwek Posted October 30 Posted October 30 Britney is also inactive for almost a decade. That could also one of the reasons why she did not make it into Top 5. That could affect Rihanna too. And like what other's mentioned here, her debut was not also counted. 1
Cyber Posted October 30 Posted October 30 This list is such a joke!! Katy should at least place at top 10 and Britney should be in top 3

Even then, Britney's been more commercially successful than both Beyonce and Rihanna this century. Only Taylor has been more commercially successful, but Taylor's impact and influence is incredibly minimal in comparison (and she, very famously, has taken a ton of influence from Britney Spears). If this were an objective list ranking pop careers, including significant moments, influence, impact and commercial success, it should be: 1. Britney 2. Beyonce 3. Eminem (if they're counting rappers) 4. Lady Gaga 5. Taylor Swift 6. Rihanna They screwed the pooch by putting Drake so high and Britney/Eminem so low. 1 1

Thor Posted October 30 Posted October 30 15 hours ago, Eternium said: You've gone on enough, delusional Little Monster. Lady Gaga's last studio album barely hit the top 20 and fell off after one week. Her last film lost the studio over $300M. Her lead single to her latest studio album is bombing and is only projected to hit #25, and that was before Tyler the Creator dropped an album bomb. Britney's last leads went #17 (Make Me… with no music video and almost no playlisting) and #12 (Work ***** with no music video and almost no playlisting). Gaga was not able to outlast Britney nor was she able to come close to Britney's overall career. I can post the RIAA numbers if you'd like Aww and yet she's going to be higher than your fave on this list. OT: Can't wait to see the Top 5.
TeemoR Posted October 30 Posted October 30 Gaga above Britney? Seems accurate. This is not 2004 anymore. 2 2

ChooseyLover Posted October 30 Posted October 30 Not sure how artists like Drake can be labelled as "pop stars" let alone "greatest of the 21st century" but I'm glad to see Britney in a high placement, regardless if it's too low/high according to some of y'all.
