I think the top 5 are almost destined to be…

Beyoncé

Lady Gaga

Taylor Swift

Britney Spears

Rihanna

For the boys I think The Weeknd, Eminem, Drake, Bruno Mars and possibly Bieber could crack the top 10.

No way will they have an all female top 5. :gaycat6:

My prediction is that they will rank Beyoncé at #1.

I'll keep it cute and calm until the full top 25 is revealed but I can already tell she'll be more worthy to be there than some of their weird choices. Literally 90% of Christina's career happened in the 21st century and let's not act as if she didn't open the century with a #1 hit, and collabs or not she's made herself present deep into the 2010s. And let's not forget we're talking pop stars, on top of that. She's been the embodiment of one.

I guess since it's Billboard Taylor could clinch it, and the 4 month reveal span would line up nicely with the end of the Eras Tour

That is not shade, it's a fact :coffee2:

Taylor, Bey and Eminem will probably be top 3

ATRL gays have infiltrated Billboard I fear. It was only a matter of time.

Her 21st Century in Pop: Christina Aguilera actually had the first new Hot 100 No. 1 hit of the 21st century, with the second single off her debut album, as "What a Girl Wants" followed "Genie in a Bottle" to the top spot

Do Billboard not realise that the 21st century started in 2001, not 2000?

Another fluff piece paid for by Taylor's publicist. :rip:

We truly need to label Taylor Derangement Syndrome as an actual medical condition. :juanny:

The Xtina fans sounded so unhinged in here until I realised a thread specifically about her was merged with this thread :deadbanana4:

They drag Xtina for her laziness after B2B days but that's okay.

Since Bionic she just released and quit.

She's been saying since before the Stripped days that she's not there to chasing numbers. She had success with her earlier releases and that's okay.

When explaining why Xtina wasn't included in their 25 greatest pop stars of the 21st century list, this is what Billboard had to say :rip:

They were shady as hell about other artists as well :skull:

Lana and Billie out already is just wild :deadbanana2:

let's hope the top spots are certificate all-time legends :toofunny2:

why would billie be on that list :spin: she's been relevant past 5 years and we are talking about 25 here. billboard states that being omnipresent during whole period is big factor, honorable mention is perfect placement for her

People shocked Billie or Olivia didn't make it when Post Malone is right there outside the top 25 lol

How did he not make it?

Also the top 25 seems pretty predictable. Everyone making their list is naming the same artists in a different order :lmao: 4 months for the most predictable list ever.

Not Billboard trying to piecemeal a top 25 list of 21st century pop stars over several months. They're acting like they're using some all encompassing metric and industry commentary to compile this list when we all know that it will be based on accumulative chart performance and nothing more :toofunny2: some of the honorable mentions already being out, despite being influential or game-changers, proves that. If they're trying to generate hype for the list, they're going about it the wrong way. Everyone will have forgotten about it by the time they get to the top 10.

This is the first time Xtina has charted on a Billboard list since like 2012. Congrats for being part of those who missed the top 25 :msmarvel:

Billboard names Katy Perry as the 25th Greatest Pop Artist of the century.

Quote

Even if Katy Perry's songs are no longer omnipresent in today's pop, her fingerprints still are. You can feel her in the eye-popping costumes and theatrically vivid world-building of Chappell Roan and the sticky sweet and slightly naughty hooks of Sabrina Carpenter. And even the backlash to "Women's World" is indicative of Perry's enduring level of stardom – the song dominated headlines for a week, as folks couldn't resist weighing in on it one way or the other – and the fact that so many fans are still rooting for her. At her apex, Katy Perry was as proud and formidable a pop purveyor as we've seen this century, and she will forever be associated with the highest highs of that fondly remembered era: a teenage dream that countless millennial and Gen Z pop fans will never totally wake up from.

billboard announced their 21st century greatest pop stars honorable mentions last week, and this week announced that over the next few weeks they would be announcing their greatest pop stars of the 21st century. a couple minutes ago they revealed that number 25 was indeed Katy Perry.

sorry but 'teenage dream' era alone should give her a top 20. :bird: the 2024 hate train affected her ranking.
