MP3 Posted July 31 Posted July 31 5 hours ago, stevyy said: I have to lol. This is so stupid. Rainbow tour: The number you found out with your tireless research was 8 shows from North America out of 19 shows in total which Billboard even has at $7,1 million. Charm Tour: Not a single concert, not even the most flopping one had a gross of below $300k. That being said, Pollstar has the North American shows at $6 million. 41 other shows to report and missing from your tireless research. Adventures of Mimi: Again your number only includes her NA concerts. 8 shows missing, among them 6 shows from Japan alone. And then the weirdest drag of them all, Sweet Sweet Fantasy tour: The biggest flop show is listed as $284k. That number you gave reflects 10 out of 31 shows. That's some Kellyanne **** you're doing. Now, a sane rund-down: Concert Tours: (15 tours, 318 concerts) =$246,8m Residencies: (5 residencies, 139 concerts) = $45 million (excl. The Celebration of Mimi) International Christmas Concert Tour (1 International Xmas Concert Series, 20 concerts) = $13m - All I want for Christmas Is You: A Night of Joy and Festifity Overall live concert revenue: $304,8 million with 477 concerts. (that's an average of $638,993 per concert and not the super ridiculous $86k you provided. Who would even book Mariah if her concerts would only generate $86k? LOL I mean drag her numbers... but don't resort to some Kellyanne ****, man. There's still no real and strong demand for a Mariah tour WW, it's not bringing her down, it's just the reality 1

Poncho Barlliams Posted July 31 Posted July 31 9 hours ago, tiagol88 said: There's a reason she has more overall streams than Whitney (even if you erase Popular) and more streams than Mariah (except between October / December since 2020). Madonna no longer has overall streams, Mariah has 9.5 billion on Spotify, Madonna 8 billion. Even though Madonna has 200 more songs than Mariah and support from The Weeknd, she has fewer streams overall. 4
Poncho Barlliams Posted July 31 Posted July 31 7 hours ago, Wildcat said: Damn, that's even worse than I thought that means Madonna outgrossed her lifetime concert revenue with the MDNA Tour alone (88 dates). I guess those streams you keep obsessing over aren't translating to anything significant after all. and even filling stadiums all over the world, she still needs to turn to The Weeknd so that the new generation knows about her existence 4

Plus Madonna has more daily streams than those ladies. If you can't maintain the popularity that you had over the years...... You should worry about this, not Mariah Celebration 2.63Mn (2008) Cowboy Carter 2.50M (2024) 2

Ryan Reynolds went to see her personally to seek approval of the usage of the song, he even agreed to do arrangements for the scene where it would feature that Madonna herself requested. The Weeknd chose to collaborate with her and showered with praise, her voice is all over the track as well. This is the result of being a respected legend in the industry, not sure what's wrong with that? What does it change that these songs are doing these numbers due to the popularity of The Weeknd and Marvel? 5

tiagol88 Posted July 31 Posted July 31 9 hours ago, momal said: Madonna is a singles artists, she's never had a huge selling album like other ladies. TIC sales are massively driven by cheap Club sales (like 5-6 million, only sold 6 million through Soundscan) where you could buy an album for a couple of cents. And albums released before Soundscan era had their sales based on certifications which were reported by labels and we know that they are used to inflate sales massively. Not to mention that she doesn't have any mega classics like AIWFCIY, MHWGO or IWALY/IWDWS. Calling the woman that sold more albums a "singles artist" i 6
Chris Posted July 31 Posted July 31 So female artists from the 80s and 90s are allowed to have proper playlisting, seasonal periods where they benefit from music-wise, can collaborate with newer artists and etc. But Madonna isn't allowed to do it because it makes her look desperate and pathetic. Noted. 8 1

MP3 Posted July 31 Posted July 31 Emotional songs in general have better replay values in the long therme than pop songs and Celine, Whitney and Mariah have great emotional songs that people love to go back and they are the kind of artists known for mostly making power ballads. + they are once in a lifetime vocal performers 1

It's the same story over and over again. Whatever Mariah does is bad and when Madonna does it, it's influental and great. That's not how reality works, I fear. 1

The Madonna fans just take out the touring receipts whenever they can and it's great to see how well Madonna is doing. But then they post that a 69 dates tour only grossed $6 million for an individual revenue of $86k per show when Mariah literally performed stadiums and huge arenas outside the US. I feel like that even in victory the Madonna fans are so insecure that they oost fake numbers for Mariah which would make anyone look ridiculous. Why? 1
